January 19, 20179 yr Too much thought is being put into this 13 man bullpen thing. I can't think of a single NL team that has actually done that consistently. Every team around spring training says it's a possibility but it never happens for more than a few weeks if not days. The Marlins will be no different, they'll carry 5 bench guys.

January 19, 20179 yr I've seen Luis Castillo live. While he's good in the minors, his secondary stuff is below average. He's a thrower not a pitcher; much like Urena and Eovaldi. I don't ever see Castillo being better than Eovaldi with his ceiling as Ubaldo Jimenez. I like Dillon Peters and Jarlin Garcia a LOT more than Castillo; both of which I've seen live and they have 3-4 pitches. Both could be solid middle of the rotation guys. Having Straily as a cost controllable pitcher for 4 years in today's market is a plus. The cost of free agent pitching is obscene and Chen wasn't worth it. I like the deal.

January 19, 20179 yr which creates the problem of having to stretch him out mid season which is a terrible idea I agree and to his credit he was ready within a couple starts, but it still wasn't ideal.

January 19, 20179 yr what a nice swing for Cincy. They pick up Straily off waivers, get a decent season out of him, them flip him for 3 prospects while they're rebuilding. He's league minimum I guess and controlled for 4 years... hopefully he figured out something. I liked Brice's potential, oh well. January 19, 20179 yr Rotation is set, bullpen is set. Looks like the only open spots are bench and that might be 2 spots up. With Ichiro,Ellis,Rojas and Dietrich on the beach,I think it's only one spot left.
