May 7, 20179 yr Only got to watch the last two innings but very surprised that Mattingly pulled Urena at 63 pitches when he let him go 87 in relief. The question has never been whether he has the stuff. Needed to improve his slider and locate. Should have won the series.
May 7, 20179 yr I agree, he does seem to more effective as a starter. I've been wanting Urena in the rotation over either Chen or Volquez since the start of the season. I feel as if he won't be any worse than those two and he's a tick better with the bat and has some speed at least. As long as he keeps the ball down he usually gets pretty damn good results, he just has those occasional games where he's truly atrocious. Here's hoping that they give him a few more starts. But they're not going to sit Volquez or Chen because way too much coin invested there.
May 8, 20179 yr I'm really hoping that Chen forms some kind of asian dishonor and does not exercise the options. Amazing how he's hasn't come near the numbers in Baltimore. Hes also had his moments and his fair share of starts that were going well and then ruined at the end.

It's funny because it's just one game and it's just one loss and if we had won it would have been just one win...but it sure feels like winning Friday would have put a different feeling on this club today. It's pretty stupid really but winning Friday would have made this place less dramatic too.

It's a weird alternate universe where the season could have gone exactly the same as it has gone now but if Ziegler gets out of that 7th inning Friday unscathed the Marlins end today with a 14-16 record and the season is still on but because of that one inning and Barraclough walking in that run with the bases loaded suddenly we end this weekend at 13-17 and there's now a boycott on the season... for ONE game!

Especially when we were up by so much and it quickly evaporated. But the fact they were able to get a win like this was great. We talk about the Marlins doing pretty bad lately everyone needs to look at the Mets. They are in a very rough patch themselves with injuries continuing to pile up.
