December 16, 20178 yr Glad Jeter has learned the whole PR thing and how to treat a fanbase. Marlins will be making money hand over fist in no time with this mindset with sell outs galore.
December 16, 20178 yr I wish we could all attend the meeting. We'd ask the right questions. Even if he'd give non responses back he'd get to hear the stuff we want him to hear. I can even ask him about the boat @Rydawgand I are gonna hop on. I just want to attend and hold a sign in the back of the room that reads.................. #FuckJeter Also, he's not welcomed on the boat ride!
December 17, 20178 yr Not that it matters at this point, the hope at building good will has been burnt to the ground with long term consequences, just that Jeter will have to do his all time best to eliminate the smugness and demonstrate a whole lot of humility. So far from what I've seen of him, good luck with that.
December 17, 20178 yr To 99% percent of the questions that people ask Jeter, he's going to respond with something like "things weren't working so we needed to take measures to rebuild from the bottom up" or "our baseball people [Hill] are happy with the returns and are confident the prospects we got will pan out." Or "we think the Ozuna package was the best deal on the table." Or "payroll will will reflect attendance/revenue." Then he's going to blame the players for having been traded because he will say that they expressed they didn't want to go along with their plans. Mike Hill advising Jeter on the deals is like a blind leading another blind
December 18, 20178 yr You have got to love Mike Hills response to the Ozuna trade. He says that Ozuna was such a talent and that is evident by the return they were able to get for him.
December 18, 20178 yr If I were there, I just want to ask one question. "Marlins has been picked "low paid and no one cares as a high-level" at the 1st round of draft. I think that strategy contributed to this situation partially. So I want to know your draft approaching. Still tighten budget at the draft or not?"

December 18, 20178 yr “We will select the best available talent that fits our organizational plan.” What a Perfect answer.
December 18, 20178 yr “We will select the best available talent that fits our organizational plan.” What a nonsense.
December 18, 20178 yr I do expect the responses from Jeter to be very cliche and textbook like. I don't think the townhall meeting is really necessary. But would be more interesting if someone from the board was going.
