Yelich and Ozuna vs the Marlins

Featured Replies

Certainly the bats of Yelich, Stanton and Ozuna would not have made a difference last year even if the Marlins had a Trevor Richards, Caleb Smith and Pablo Lopez on their staff instead of the array of plus 6 ERA types that were polluting the starting staff before the best outfield in baseball was traded away.

Chew on that one!

I can agree with that.

Don’t forget about the 102 innings that Tazawa and Bad Brad threw that year!

Check out the early stats of Paddack, Castillo, Williams, Bearclaw, Ozuna, Yelich, JT. All doing fantastic. Unless you’re a hooker, really tough to swallow. Embrace the doom and gloom baby!

Yelich turned into a legit star as soon as he left here which figures.

Meanwhile Lewis Brinson still gets ABs because we have no one else

Yeah, they are doing that now- but what about when their production drops 5 years from now. We'd be happy we aren't paying for that diminished production then.

and just think 100 years from now all these players would be dead so it's good they traded them before that

Derek Dietrich has a .980 OPS (with a .200 BABIP) in 2019.

Good for Deitz.  GABP is a launching pad and his home road splits so far actually have him performing better away from home.  So those numbers could actually get better.  His home road split last year heavily favored the road but marlins park has that affect on people.

amazing they rostered that dude with the 45% k rate and dfa'd double D

Totally amazing.

They would have needed to go to arby with Dietrich and he would've made more than double what he ended up getting from Cincy. The Marlins and all 29 other teams didn't feel he was worth 5 million plus in 2019. The Marlins couldn't offer him less though. That and they didn't like his defense anyway. So they moved on from a guy that until a few days ago was having a shit season. This is pretty simple, not "amazing".
