I think he's out.

Not sure there was enough to overturn that (foot possibly not on the bag) but whatever.

Yeah, this is Mattingly’s ninth decade of MLB and he still doesn’t know how different types of pitchers are supposed to be utilized.

It’s Pablos first game since last year, had a rough month personally, why run the risk. Got what you needed now go to the pen.

Should’ve taken him out after the first, then, just to be safe.  He’s a starter.  He had 61 pitches through 5 innings and they only had a three-run lead going to the bottom of the sixth.  It only looks like an acceptable decision to pull him because it happened to not result in disaster.

Believe me, I agree with ya, probably could have let him take the 6th, but no reason to risk it just yet.

Next start he'll go 7.

Could’ve should’ve would’ve. All speculation. And if it was a disaster everyone would blame Donnie for keeping him in.

That remains to be seen.  This isn’t an isolated incident.  Mattingly’s premature starter-pulling has probably cost the Marlins at least 20 wins over his tenure.

That could be a complete game if it's in a double header.

Begs the question, would that pitcher get credit for a complete game?

I would hope so.

Yes, already happened with Bauer.
