hovertical
So does anyone know how he actually had it happen? I missed that game entirely since i'm out of town. My wife texted me to say he was rubbing his jaw or something and nobody knew what happened. I haven't seen or heard of him getting hit in the head by a bat, ball, etc. or collide with anything. It's a shame because he's truly a funloving likable dude and the staff seemed to perform better with him calling the game. If he just swung to hard and managed to get another, since they're easier to get after you've already had them, that's truly frightening. He hasn't been here long but man, he sure was a positive pickup for this team.

He shook it off at first but in his first at bat, he himself fouled off a ball and it took him a good 20-30 seconds before getting back in the box, just trying to get everything set right with himself. Was taking warm-up pitches after that, and basically said he couldn't handle it. Tough break, really. 😞

He's always out there having fun and seems like he's an awesome teammate. Hope he tries a position change if he plans on continuing baseball. There was word last year that he was going to move to first base or retire and then was all, "no, I'd rather keep playing, and catching." He's definitely a good leader behind the plate. Das Texan
At some point someone has to look out for Cervelli's long term health. Why they continue to allow him to get back behind the plate is beyond me. CTE is something real; its like old school NFL, lets pretend its no big deal type of situation. mystikol87
I like Cervelli. This stinks. Even if he's healthy, I'm unsure if he's a good enough hitter at this point to play anywhere other than catcher when the team is fully healthy. marlinsmaniac
Yeah dude, from strictly a health perspective, he shouldn’t be allowed to play anymore.

Yeah but then like @mystikol87 said, he’s not a good enough hitter to put at first base or DH 🤷🏻♂️
