December 10, 20205 yr Author ... I didn't know you could do that, actually. Does Pop then have to be on our MLB roster all season?

December 10, 20205 yr Hey @taiwanmarlin look the Marlins added both pop and bullpen help at the same time!
December 10, 20205 yr 55 minutes ago, Michael said: I know how this went down... Kim Ng called the DBacks asking if they could get back the HOF pitcher that Mike Hill traded to Arizona last year, in a hurry Kim just said "That pitcher, Zach something..." and the DBacks sent over Zach Pop instead of Zac Gallen.
December 10, 20205 yr So, serious question now, in a deal like this, is this one of those prearranged trades where the Marlins told the Dbacks to draft Pop to complete this trade? Or did the Dbacks draft Pop without the Marlins knowledge and then the Marlins came calling for the trade? I'm pretty sure this is a Marlins-led draft pick that Arizona just facilitates for them to complete this trade. Not sure why Arizona would waste a draft pick here but we shall see.
December 10, 20205 yr So here's the best thing about this: he's good. Here's the second best thing about it: If he pitches well, we can say he gave the bullpen some pop. If he doesn't, we can call him Zach Poop.

Yeah this is totally the rule 5 version of the Eli Manning draft and trade lol

Yeah and that’s probably the trade off for being able to have the option to keep the player down in the minors while they develop instead of being forced to use a roster spot on the Rule 5 guy
December 11, 20205 yr I was hoping to see some of Taiwanmarlins takes in this thread. Hope our message board workhorse didn't gallop away for good.
December 11, 20205 yr It's just ridiculous some people think the full of the 40-man roster would limit this team to further upgrade the roster, didn't they know the team could remove someone from the 40-man at any time ?
