We scored.

Our bullpen has allowed every run this year.

I know it's Game 2 but this one really annoyed me...

If the team still looks this bad in May, then let's put some of the prospects in the pen and see what they can do

Heath bell ptsd acting up

Really bad pitches out of bass. Hope he doesn’t have a long leash

Sups

.................

Why is a team in a youth movement trotting out 6 30+ year olds in the starting lineup?

Deadass do the Marlins have the oldest starting lineup in the league?

1 out, Bass had 2 strikes on the hitter and he gives up a hit to start trhe meltdown... why not throw a junk pitch and see if he chases?

Probably because he’s not a very good pitcher

Disappointing start but there were some goods things that bode well going forward.  Starting pitching has been as advertised.  Alcantara looking like a true ACE.  I think he has a very bright future ahead. Might want to extend him sooner than later. Pablo looking very solid also.

Jazz has been exciting and he might be starting to fulfill his potential.  This offense might not be a juggernaut but there's plenty of speed and power from 1 through 8. I would prefer Cooper starting and Dickerson coming off of the bench though.

Bullpen has potential but Bass is not a closer.  He might be useful in another role but he doesn't have closer stuff.  That was apparent today.

If the Starting pitching is sustainable, we will be in alot of games and win our fair share.  We have to sort out that pen though.  They went the cheap route with the bullpen so we night have to bring up some of the young arms sooner rather than later.

We're just 2 games in.  I'm still very excited about this season.

"Hey guys, It's just Game #2."

This sentence does not make me satisfied.

This one hurt, because the Marlins were winning in the 9th inning by 2 runs.

AL champs or not, closer has got to seal the deal. I know I talked a lot of crap about Yimi yesterday, but probably Yimi could have saved this game, as most likely could have Pop, or even James Hoyt (we miss you already, hope you do well in LA) 😭

in a tough division where we are picked to finish last, these are the ones we gotta win

@hovertical The thread is locked so I’ll just respond here. Like I said, I think we have 10-15th ranked offense and a top 5 SP rotation.  That’s assuming we stay healthy.  That would project us to be a post season team but not if the bullpen can’t man up, not in our division.

You might be right, we will see.  Mattingly might be the wild card for it not happening though. He factored in this loss by yanking Lopez after the 5th when we don’t even have a secure bullpen order yet because he’s assuming what we had with Box and Kinz is just going to carry over to this year.

That was a ruff message.

Last year when having the lead through the 7th inning, the BP secured the win without a loss.   Gotta believe this influenced Donnie pulling Lopez out of the 5th.  IDK
