Four fourth or fifth year seniors in a row. All pitchers...If they don't take a risk on some HS kids late with the money they saved, then I have no idea what the plan was.

Maybe oldest player available?

Sherman is crying broke from the huge contracts to Avi and Soler

Angels took ben Joyce in third round.  Missed opportunity there.

Hate the strategy if drafting four year college seniors. We really need to look closer at age curve graphs.

Ideally we want guys to hit the majors at 23. Then we get six controllable years before they peak.

Drafting a guy 22 or 23 almost insures he is not going to be a superstar.

They use all but one of their top ten draft picks on pitchers means :

1. They 100% make sure Mel would stay here long term.

2. They would use their super pitching surplus (veterans or prospects ) to acquire real good veteran hitters to compete in the 2023 and beyond.

3. They just give up to develop the hitters by themselves.
