Mets season imploding before it starts? Between this and Quintana and I think there's another injury to a pitcher of theirs.

You said Quintana and my mind said "but he's on the Rays ..." and I realized I confused this with my Road to the Show career going on right now. Ha!

SirFishFan
Just now, Michael said: Edwin Diaz torn patellar tendon, likely to miss season. Damn.. I can't stand that guy as a pitcher especially when he's closing out games against the Marlins. But still, you never like to see that for any player, even a Marlins rival. I don't trust Mets fans. He's probably pulling your leg because he's so annoyed that the Mets lost their best relief pitcher. Just joking, in case you think I'm insulting your cousin. 😂 Edited March 16 by SirFishFan

But honestly, he was probably just hoping and misinformed. He may not have heard the bad news yet. The big question is, do I let him hear it on his own or do I let him know myself? rmc523
You never like to see a guy get hurt, regardless of team. BUT......this is why you don't throw in the towel on a season and "aim for next year" in the offseason. The Mets have already lost a few pitchers for anywhere from a few weeks to the entire season, which potentially could make a difference in their win/loss record, and by extension directly and indirectly affecting our spot in the standings (directly by playing them, indirectly by it being a lower bar to pass them if we play well).

I kinda wish it had been a just slightly inside fastball that did it instead but that worked too. Fuck that whiny POS.

Rather he just start slumping terribly and get sent down or something. lol
SonOfJack
I'll never celebrate an injury to any player. Really shitty to see this happen to Diaz and the Mets but not the WBC's fault.

Again, would have rather seen him standing nearly in the strike zone like he enjoys doing and a pitch tear his kneecap off versus a dive in the outfield but I can't stand him so I dgaf on the particulars as long as he's not in baseball.
Das Texan
Cheering on injuries is honestly the most dickish thing a fan can do, tbh.

Thanks! I did think about that long and hard before posting actually 😃 Before Acuna it was probably Fiers - not for hitting Stanton, because accidents do happen and I highly doubt he wished to eradicate half of G's face.....BUT after he almost beaned whoever it was that was up next and THEN he starts shouting shit at the Marlins. Yeah, not ashamed to say I was hoping someone would hit a hot shot up the middle that would take his elbow, ankle, etc off. I genuinely enjoy the flamboyant stuff like bat flips, signature HR trots, pitchers fist pumping or shouting when they get a whiff (even if they want to talk shit - I enjoy all of that) I specifically loathe Acuna because he literally stands against the strike zone and you can not pitch him inside at all because it will hit him. Even some strikes that are closer to the inside border are called balls because of how close he stands to the zone - and even then that's not even why I never want to see him take a swing again - It's because he acts like a fucking tool when someone hits him or even gets close to him. Every. Single. Time. If you want to stand that close just own it when you get hit just off the plate - that's the price you pay. He doesn't seem to understand that concept and whines like a bitch. I can't stand him for that. If he would just accept it and move on - meh, wouldn't want him gone but he just won't stop so hell with 'em. Acuña got knocked down during a Spring game and he had to get up and get back in the box. No time to complain. Lol

SilverBullet
You don't want or cheer an injury to any player but I'm with @hovertical in that I don't hate seeing Acuna get hurt. Same with Posey.
