April 2, 20233 yr I was at the game today.... To be fair I missed the first inning, but my god that had to be the most boring, lifeless baseball game I've ever attended. Not only is the on-field product an absolute joke, but Jeter really sucked the energy out of the ballpark with the changes he made. Rest assured, I will not be returning anytime soon. Even if the decisions beforehand were Jeter, they now have had two seasons including an entire off-season to make changes to that experience.

Unfortunately, I dont think cheap ass Sherman would have ever come close to owning the team without hitching onto the Jeter ownership train that MLB and Loria were deadset on.
April 2, 20233 yr I use to despise the Mets fans that would fill Marlins home games. Now i just envy them. It is what it is....but things seem to only be getting worse for this franchise.
April 3, 20233 yr Ugly game all around. Our deficiencies are glaring and showing in just about every game. Jazz's defense, Avi's anything, the bullpen ugh. I got trapped in an elevator today and missed a lot of the game because of that and an early start time. May have been a blessing in disguise.

We think … It's ok to be upset about this opening series but everything you complained about here can't be determined in four days of games. All of this could look different even in a week.

April 3, 20233 yr First series wasn't great but it's one series so I'm not complaining about any one specific detail. The bottom line is that the team still seems very flawed. That's all that needs to be said. A lot of the little things from the weekend can go either way from here but winning is still gonna be difficult with this group and Marlins fans might be facing another year on the island of irrelevancy.
April 3, 20233 yr Another thing I kept thinking this weekend... the team is probably better than the 2022 team and probably ends up with more wins than them but it feels like once again we're not better than the best teams and that's the rut that the Marlins have such a hard time getting out of. So yea we'll stack up some wins but once we play the big boys we'll be eating dirt over and over. It's that dangerous area of always being middle ground and not better. We're a .500 team at best right now.

I do think he made it more......corporate?.....Gone are the colorful zones in favor of gray. But I'll push back on the food - that was changed for the better. Before it was typical ballpark food all over with one corner having some more unique options. The problem is of course that what we have now can feel bland and boring. But I think that's a reflection of the product on the field. If the team is winning nobody is gonna say the ballpark is boring. And I don't think the ballpark is boring but the great things about this ballpark are no longer flashy.

You know, ever since they removed the Marlins home run sculpture, the Marlins have been at the bottom or near the bottom of the majors of HRs hit at home park every season since then. I'm pretty sure the fact of Stanton, Yelich, Bour, JT and Ozuna leaving the Marlins is just a coincidence. But I'm blaming the HR sculpture being removed as the reason. 😂

Sure, but not everything had to be so sterile. He also took out some more "normal" unique aspects of the park, like the pool and fish tanks. I do think some tanks up on the concourse would have been nice......where more fans aside from diamond club folks could actually see them.

I would love more fish tanks where fans can actually see them throughout the concourse. That would be so cool. I'm sure the maintenance of the fish tanks was an issue but that would be such a great thing to remind people that this building is actually in Miami.
