  1. The deal on the park was corrupt? Please explain exactly what about the "deal" on the park was "corrupt." We eagerly await your inside information. The team lied? Please detail the "lies." This could be hot stuff. The SEC would be interested. We eagerly await your revelations. Tax collections will not make the bond payment? That's already been demonstrated to be totally false, see a few posts above. I guess you didn't bother to read the thread before spouting more lame BS. What a surprise. And, yes, usually elected officials are stupid. Especially when it comes to money or economics. Perhaps even more stupid than you are, although that's hard to imagine. And, no, I'm not involved with the stadium deal other than to comment on it at length. Usually to take apart juvenile attacks on it like the one you just made. I believe the SEC is interested. Might want to fact check the books that the team provided. I await your reply on one of such intelligence. You seem way to defensive to not have been involved? Most people notice that name calling is last resort of those unable to defend their position. Oh yes Mensa called they await your application.
  2. I saw no denial, only a lame comment. The deal on the park was corrupt, the team lied, the government believed them (what a surprise) tax collections will not make the bond payment, you put an inferior produce on the field buy cry when another team does the same thing. Now is it your fault the elected officials are stupid?( Some may have received something of value for their vote) No. Only someone involved with this cluster could defend it.
  3. It's good pick-up the problem is it isn't a great pick-up. The team needs more moves then this FO is able or capable of making. You have to like the young pitching but based on history you better enjoy them before they are gone.
  4. If you don't want them to take a shot, don't make yourself a easy target. They have made themselves an easy target.
  5. :mike So not terrible is the new Marlin standard?
  6. Remember that "Red Sox arrogance" I referenced? Check out this article: http://www.boston.com/sports/columnists/wilbur/2014/03/marlins_prove_again_why_theyre_a_super_premium_jok.mobile.html Basically slander. And the douce that wrote it doesn't even have a byline (at least not on my phone) so I can write his stupid ass. No it's not slander, it's actually factual, the team it's front office have proven to be ,well awful, they won 62 games last year only signed washed up FA's, if any show much will trade them for someone cheaper.
  7. In what universe do you see the Marlins signing either one of these guys? 62-100 stinks but it's better then what was projected.
  8. A-Rod's might just end his miserable last 5 years and let the Yanks off the hook.
  9. Actually 1 , he is doing a good job of running one, its just not and never will be under him a winning one. He is making money. It's just at the expense of every other team in the league and the few remaining fans they have.
  10. how in the world was he a big prospect at one time? Guy was #22 overall prospect at one time and now only cracks a .200 average on a good year. Saw the guy play in HS and he was a great player but he has never got any better. The Marlins are wasting AB's on this guy. Two year contract for a guy hitting below 200 lifetime? WTF!
  11. Mathis! How is the guy even still,in the league? Lifetime average under .200 and he has 8 years in the league, that's amazing.
  12. Which one signed Jeff Mathis? 1.5 mil for guy with a less then .200 lifetime avg.? Great job. We traded for him. He was part of the Toronto trade. Thanks missed that!
  13. Which one signed Jeff Mathis? 1.5 mil for guy with a less then .200 lifetime avg.? Great job.
  14. It's true that the record is bad right now but the 1962 Mets had no star power on it and the 2013 Marlins have to many monsters coming up to lose 120 games. This team ha the ability to turn it around soon unlike the 62 mets who struggled for the whole season. This is a bad team.... The chances of a turn around are slim and none and none just opened the door to leave the building. Will they be the worse team in recent history? That takes special effort, I think the FO is doing their part but the players may not be capable.
  15. I don't know how this got turned in to a Miguel Cabrera thread. He doesn't even play here anymore and I for one am glad. He is a good hitter but we can't afford one salary on this team that is the size of his salary it would cripple us for years. Watch what happens to the Tigers because in a couple years when he declines and they still have to pay him they will be pereniel celler dwellers thanks to his contract and untradability. He can't play any positions in the field so he has to stay in the American League also lets not forget that. Anyway enough about Cabrera we all have to move on. Back o topic this team has very good players coming in and there is no way that a team with this much amazing talentt ends up being a historicaly bad record at the end of the year. There is no way. I think we have a chance to finish 3rd in the division and there is a chance that when stanton and solano comes back and yelich comes up and ozuna keeps hitting like a monster and Cogz keeps on his great pace we can make a run towards 500 in the second half. It wouldn't be that crazy. I think it would be MORE CRAZY if this team with all this talent loses 100 games. THAT is what would be crazy. The pitching has been tremendous this year. We need to start scoring runs for the starters and that is going to happen when we finally get everyone in there playing their positions. With a lineup like this how can we say that the team will lose 100 games? LF OZUNA (monster in training) CF YELICH (superstar talent) RF STANTON (monster when healthy) 3B COGHLIN (got to keep his bat in the lineup and polanco has to go) SS HECHAVERRIA (Ozzy smith 2.0) 2B SOLANO (steady bat and gold glove potential defense) 1B MORRISSON (young and ready to prove himself) C BRANTLY (could be another Paul LaDuca if defense improves) P- we have Nolasco (well above average), Evoldi (potential ace or no 2), Slowey (breakout year), Alverez (brings the heat) and Koehler or Wade LaBlanc who are both great for 5th starters. Add in that we have a very solid bullpen with one of the best closers in the MLB (cishek hasn't had enough chances yet this year) and I just do not see any way that this team loses 100 games. That is a GOOD lineup that is potentially GREAT when we get the injured players back and Yelich hits the scene. And the pitching has already been tremendous. We have been injured and unlucky. It is still early and we can dig out of this hole. It really isn't that bad. That is some serious fantasy you got going there. I just hope they don't lose 130 games.
  16. This is just a whole bunch of nothing. Nothing to see here. When is Stanton coming back, late June? Just before the trade deadline.
  17. OK who's surprised? the worse owner in MLB.
  18. WOW! 5-16,10.5 games back 21 games in! be lucky to get 38.
  19. Saying this is a AAA team might be overrating them, A might be closer
  20. please buy the team jeb bush. please. That would be awesome. Not going to happen! If Jeffy lost money he would sell this in a heartbeat, that's why I think it's bs he lost money last year. With the Marlins recent history of being upfront and honest about the dollar numbers do you really think he would tell us about how much he lost or made.
