9/2, 7:05 PM - Marlins(66-68) at Milwaukee (62-73)
Washington beats Arizona, 7-6 (first of two). Braves over Phils, 4-3 (also first half of double header). Yeah, and the Phillies blew a save and lost in the ninth and Arizona blew it in the ninth and lost in extras. Heartbreakers....Hopefully we can take advantage.

Nolasco
Ricky Nolasco, who is 0-2 with a 10.50 ERA in his past three starts, will miss his next scheduled start Monday against the Diamondbacks. Brian Moehler will replace Nolasco in the rotation. Moehler has gone 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in eight relief appearances since his last start. Nolasco will likely reclaim his starting job later in the week. Source: Miami Herald

Marlins in market for a center fielder
"This would explain, in part, why Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Lee have been on the trading block. Both the Nationals and Rangers have been hot to try and get something for these two players before free agency forces both clubs to possibly walk away without anything for these two top players that were not dealt at the trading deadline. Stay tuned." Maybe we can still grab Soriano? I know he's not a centerfielder but we could still put Hermida in center and Soriano in right. The lack of defense would be made uop with the offense. Or maybe Soriano would move to cf.

No more Draft Pick comp
It also says in that article that Soriano is available because the Nationals don't want to lose him for nothing. Maybe we can get him now that we are trully in the race.

More history
Now let them be the first team ever to have 3 20+hr rookies. Jake needs 3 to get there.

Miguel Cabrera
He just took the Marlin record for most rbi in a month by getting his 31st rbi in August. He still has 4 games to increase that mark.

Arguing Calls
There was no valid reason for Girardi to argue that call. It wasn't a close call. Although Robinson goes overboard with his arguments last night he had a valid one. How can you say that wasn't a close call? That call is usually an out 99% of the time.

Arguing Calls
Yesterday was kind of the last straw for me. I thought that play at home at least deserved a small complaint from our manager. For example, look at Frank Rbinson. Everyone in the stadium knows when he is mad. I don't know how Girardi does it. From what has happened in the last 7 ball games, I know I would have been thrown out in at least three of them.

Reviving closers

Two steps forward
Everytime we start doing good and we think about the wild card, we always seem to hit a wall and fall back. Agree?
