Cabrera made VWL appearance yesterday
Miguel Cabrera made his VWL debut yesterday and went 0-for-3 with a walk. Surrounded by the likes of Ronny Cedeno, Alex Sanchez, Luis Rodriguez and Alex Romero in the Aragua lineup, Cabrera will get a taste of what the Marlins experience will be like next year. Jeff Nelson
The Mets, Cardinals and Marlins are among the teams considering signing free agent Jeff Nelson. Agent Jay Franklin also said the Yankees have "limited interest." Nelson is probably looking for a guaranteed one-year deal. The Mets might prefer to sign him to a minor league contract. Dec. 15 - 4:07 am et Source: New York Post

WBC
I beleive Cabrera is for Venezuela.

Tino Martinez
The Marlins are interested in adding Tino Martinez -- as their hitting coach or first-base coach. They'd probably just bring him out of retirement in April. The right idea would have been to make Lenny Harris the hitting coach. Dec. 9 - 4:01 am et Source: Miami Herald

Antonio Perez
Antonio Perez, struck in the face by a pitch while playing in the Dominican Republic two weeks ago, has a small fracture of his left cheekbone. He'll be ready for the start of next season, but he's barely in the Dodgers' plans it seems. He'd be a cheap option for a team looking for a second baseman. The transition to third base didn't go well, and he probably doesn't have the range these days to be a quality shortstop. Dec. 8 - 6:58 pm et Source: dodgers.mlb.com I would love this guy at second. He's only 25.

Jones, Encarnacion, Gonzalez, etc..
"Can you offer arby after they reached a deal? If nothing was signed and physicals haven't passed, I'd guess so." You can. I just read about the Dodgers not offering Dessens arbitration even though he signed with the Royals. Therefore, the Royals didn't lose their pick. Rotoworld didn't understand why this happened.

A.J. Burnett's quote about this
I guess he didnt really like Cabs and Hermida. Did they have problems? He's scum.

Jones, Encarnacion, Gonzalez, etc..
If we offered them arbitration and they accepted, could we trade them after? yo can check for updates at rotoworld.com

Josh Willingham
According to the depth chart on cbs.sportsline.com, Willingham has a better chance of starting at catcher than Treanor. I don't buy it.

Oh my god.....
Mets acquired catcher Paul Lo Duca from the Marlins for two players to be named. The trade is official, but it hasn't been confirmed that right-hander Gaby Hernandez, perhaps the Mets' top remaining pitching prospect, is being included. Lo Duca is expected to remain with the Mets rather than be included in a Javier Vazquez deal. Hopefully, he'll get a little more rest than usual to prevent him from wearing down. We're not at all certain that he's a significantly better player than Ramon Castro. Lo Duca will likely hit lower in the lineup than he's used to, so don't expect big This better not be true. Not only that, They are CRAZY for thinking he is not much better than Castro. What a joke!

LoDuca was almost a D'Back
He is a defensive vet that would help our young pitchers. I like it more than Treanor.

LoDuca to Mets
"How about... Yanks: Pierre Rays: Henn Proctor Marlins: Gathright Nick Green Probably wont happen but wishful thinking..." This might work if we added one of Anibal Sanchez/Gaby Sanchez to the Rays. We know the Yanks would give up Proctor and Henn for Pierre. Would the Rays trade Gathright/Green for the three pitchers?

LoDuca to Mets
Chris Snyder and Aquino look good now.

Newest Lo Duca update
LoDuca is one of the clutchest players in BASBEALL.

Mets and Marlins in "very serious" talks regarding LoDuca

This article just makes this seem so STUPID!
Not everyone in Miami follows the Marlins. This guy is just repeating what real fans already know. I have no problem with this.

12/1 News
"I have to agree that Loria would be well served to cut ties with the entire Samson family." Isn't he part of Loria's family....nephew or something?

Marlins playing hardball with Yankees
"I'd hang onto Villone, if Seattle wants him that badly we might be able to attatch something with him for Reed" Not possible. They'd want Pierre for sure and that still might not be enough.
-
Orlando Hudson
If he was a fee agent, we might. However, I doubt the team will make a trade for a mlb player.
-
Orlando Hudson
No way we get him. We are not trading any prospects or adding salary.
