still thats not fair I believe this is a conspiracy to make us go out to the ballpark to waste our money to watch this team lose and get nowhere this year. This was not something done by the Marlins, this was a decision by DirecTV.

Any of the games that were originally supposed to be on PAX this year were moved to the FSN/Sun Sports Alt Channel (channel 635) on DirecTV. With the increased cost of showing these games, DirecTV decided to make this channel available only on the Plus or Premier packages. I wrote a thread about this recently (http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...=1&t=60849&st=0). Here is the response I got from DirecTV regarding this: "Thanks for writing. I understand your concern about paying more to be able to watch the Florida Marlins games. A total of 95 Florida Marlins regular games in 2006 are scheduled on FSN Florida (ch 634) for customers with Total Choice. This year, DIRECTV reached an agreement with FSN Florida to offer an additional 49 games previously broadcast by last year's rights holder: WPXM in Miami and WPXP in Palm Beach, FL. These games are available on FSN Florida/Sun Sports Alternate 1 (ch 635) to customers with Total Choice Plus programming packages and above. Because sports is some of the most expensive programming we offer, we made a business decision to make these additional games available only in Total Choice Plus. For only $5 more, you can upgrade your DIRECTV base package from Total Choice to Total Choice Plus. This gives you an additional 34 channels and will allow you to view up to 150 Florida Marlins games this season on your local RSN. This does not impact the regular 95 Florida Marlins games that are still available to Total Choice customers in 2006 on FSN Florida (ch 634)."

Senate sends Marlins ballpark to floor vote TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Its amazing how the less we hear about things happening in the media, the more likely they are to happen. "I love the Marlins. I go down and watch them whenever my New York Mets come in to play," said Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey. "But?if I live in Tampa Bay or the Panhandle, why should my dollars be used to build a stadium 300 miles away?" I really hate comments like that. So basically, hes saying there should be two states, North and South Florida, which actually isnt a bad idea. Doesnt he realize that South Florida money is paying for projects all over the state?

If I remember corretly the difference between the two packages is less than $5 bucks a month more so that should be affordable. I know its a $5 difference, but to me, its paying extra for something I should get anyway, like if I had to pay more to watch the local news. I could get it with a basic package from my cable company or even Dish Network, it seems. Well, tonights game is one of the games that had been moved to Sun Sports. When, I put on SUN, it says :"Don't see the game on channel 635 (the extra FSN channel they added which now says "channel not purchased")? Get up to 49 addition Marlin games by ordering Total Choice Plus or Premier (which are more expensive packages)." Anyone else have this problem? What happened to the agreement, Cape? What DirecTV package do you have? Sounds like the extra games are on DirecTV's Plus and Premier packs. I have Dish Network and no problems with the game on Sun Sports Channel 422. I also get Sun Sports' coverage of the Lightning Playoff game tonight on Channel 449. I have Total Choice, the lowest package. I am really annoyed that I need to pay more after being assured that I would be able to see ALL programming on FSN and Sun. I am getting the game on 635. Hopefully Cepicky starts in CF today. This situation w/ Reed and Abercrombie was becoming a joke. I think Cepicky's more of a corner outfielder. Doubt if he has the speed for CF. I actually really enjoy Animal Kingdom. I hear a lot of people say its like a zoo. I challenge anyone to find a zoo in the world that has anything close to that. I think it gets an unfair break because people are trying to compare it to the other Disney parks, and its a completely different type of feel. I find it to be a nice break from a more hectic pace, but I guess that doesnt appeal to most people at Disney.

Is the turf still real or is it FieldTurf? Looked real to me. Also, they werent letting anybody step on it (we had to walk from RF on the warning track, past the bullpen and the dugouts to get to the locker room), so I assume that means its real.

I was down on the field on Saturday during the Dolphins season ticket holder appreciation day and I actually noticed how nice the warning track, wall pads (with a few new ads in right field), and field looked. I figured it was just because I had never actually been on the field, but everything looked brand new.

I was at DS yesterday for the Dolphins season ticket holder appreciation day and they debuted the new screens with the 2005 Dolphins highlight video. The screens are amazing, you cant believe how big and how clear they are until you seem them. They are still the same size frames as the old scoreboards, they just took down the front of the old scoreboards so the entire board is one screen instead of a little screen in the middle with ads around it. We left before the 2nd showing of the video and got to something to eat a couple of blocks away and we could still watch the video easily. Is this over RF or over 3B? Theyre both full-size HD screens, the one over RF being the biggest in the wordl and the one over 3B being the second largest in the world. i'd like to see how that stands up against a hurricane They are still the same structures that have always been there, they just changed the facing.

DirecTV had been showing the games this week all along, but I guess this confrims they have worked out a deal to show all the games this season. TV COVERAGE DIRECTV has agreed to carry 55 Marlins games that were moved from Pax-35 to FSN or Sun Sports. This year will have flexible scheduling for the first time. The initial schedule will not have Sunday night games from week 10 on. The Sunday night matchup will be determined at least two weeks ahead of time and only Sunday afternoon games can be moved to Sunday night. Also, Fox and CBS can protect of certain number of games that they dont want moved.
