1. MLB is clueless. They get on the kid for being fan friendly, but they circle the wagons around Barry Bonds. :cool
2. take advantage of the mets situation maybe trade moeler and someone else and try and snag milledge Only if 'someone else' is Willis or Cabrera... :cool
3. It will be one of the weaker systems after about 15 of them end up on the Opening Day roster...
4. You'd be better off taking the 2 draft picks... :cool

It's clear now that Lou Pinella is doing everything in his power to get fired... :thumbdown
6. Once upon a time , the Mets got tired of waiting for a young fireballer who couldn't get over a blister problem. They traded him to the Angels for Jim Fregosi... :banghead
7. Mets signed him, per ESPNnews... :cool
8. You better hope he's not A. J.'s replacement...
9. Lenny Wilkins. For getting millions of dollars to not coach the Knicks. Lenny is the Coach of the Year. Lenny is the Coach of the Millenium.... :thumbup
10. When the Marlins opened their season and they had completed their series against the Braves, it became quite evident that we need to strengthen our bench. In my opinion, Lenny Harris will be noneffective this season, Damion Easley will thrive, Chris Aguila will be a great backup, Jeff Conine won't adjust to the bench role, and Matt Treanor will be great behind the plate but not with his bat. We need to make one move to acquire a bat with some pop. Mo Vaughn and Brad Fullmer are still free-agent left-handed sluggers and could add some significant strength to our bench. Termel Sledge of the Nationals is available according to industry resources. What are some possibilities in your minds? 733808 Let me preface this by saying I'm a Met fan, but.... ... Did you really suggest Mo Vaughn? *snicker* :lol

The Yankees, Red Sox and Padres might also be looking for a closer, because Rivera, Foulke and Hoffman all blew games... Chill. It's just one game...

On Met Boards you'd think they traded Tom Seaver....
13. Yeah. That's what you want. A $50M bunter. 725062 Did someone say waste money? you Mut fans have no room to talk 725224 How's Al doing? :cool
14. Yeah. That's what you want. A $50M bunter.
15. Hey, it's a huge upgrade from Fez... :thumbup
16. I'm in an arugment with my Braves friend on who would win in a fight, Bobby Cox or Jack McKeon. Heavy, deep thinking, intellectual argument.. I know. But I say Jack and he says Bobby.. Who would win? 702410 I'm a Met fan. I win either way... :cool
17. It is kind of amusing to watch how in all these complicated multi-team, multi-player deals the Marlins come out with all the best players..
18. What about Mike Cameron? The Mets are really desperate for relief pitching, we have plenty. Although I don't think Jones, Reidling, Mecir or Alfonseca can be traded until mid-May. Could Encarnacion and Perisho/Bump do the job? What about Spooneybarger and Encarnacion? Should Pierre leave in a year or two, Cameron could move back to centerfield where he's much better. 698246 The Mets aren't that desperate, thankyouyverymuch....
19. Actually, I think he truly wanted Texas...
20. We Met fans also called Al 'The Senator'. It was not a term of endearment.... :cool
21. Don't you have to have a job before you retire? :mischief2
22. You can ask this on just about any team board in baseball...
23. and oh yeah, you replaced your best pitcher and rotation workhorse with a 38 year old 5 inning pitcher who is a prima donna and hates pitching in hot weather. 685748 Yep the same guy who had the lowest ERA of any starter on your team last year... 685925 There's going to be a point in August where you look at Al Leiter and wonder why a pitcher with a sub 3 ERA only has ten decisions. It's because he can't get out of an inning throwing less than 25 pitches. He goes to three balls on every flaking hitter. That's how you burn out your bullpen. A little friendly warning... :cool
