Millege rubbin folks the wrong way following home run
MLB is clueless. They get on the kid for being fan friendly, but they circle the wagons around Barry Bonds. :cool

Quick question about Beckett
Once upon a time , the Mets got tired of waiting for a young fireballer who couldn't get over a blister problem. They traded him to the Angels for Jim Fregosi... :banghead

Marlins Should Acquire Bench Help
When the Marlins opened their season and they had completed their series against the Braves, it became quite evident that we need to strengthen our bench. In my opinion, Lenny Harris will be noneffective this season, Damion Easley will thrive, Chris Aguila will be a great backup, Jeff Conine won't adjust to the bench role, and Matt Treanor will be great behind the plate but not with his bat. We need to make one move to acquire a bat with some pop. Mo Vaughn and Brad Fullmer are still free-agent left-handed sluggers and could add some significant strength to our bench. Termel Sledge of the Nationals is available according to industry resources. What are some possibilities in your minds? 733808 Let me preface this by saying I'm a Met fan, but.... ... Did you really suggest Mo Vaughn? *snicker* :lol

Mets Fans...
The Yankees, Red Sox and Padres might also be looking for a closer, because Rivera, Foulke and Hoffman all blew games... Chill. It's just one game...

Settle an argument
I'm in an arugment with my Braves friend on who would win in a fight, Bobby Cox or Jack McKeon. Heavy, deep thinking, intellectual argument.. I know. But I say Jack and he says Bobby.. Who would win? 702410 I'm a Met fan. I win either way... :cool

Florida Marlins Could Add Barry Zito In Spring
It is kind of amusing to watch how in all these complicated multi-team, multi-player deals the Marlins come out with all the best players..

Possible Three-Team Trade
What about Mike Cameron? The Mets are really desperate for relief pitching, we have plenty. Although I don't think Jones, Reidling, Mecir or Alfonseca can be traded until mid-May. Could Encarnacion and Perisho/Bump do the job? What about Spooneybarger and Encarnacion? Should Pierre leave in a year or two, Cameron could move back to centerfield where he's much better. 698246 The Mets aren't that desperate, thankyouyverymuch....

CNNSI ranks the pitching staffs of the NL
and oh yeah, you replaced your best pitcher and rotation workhorse with a 38 year old 5 inning pitcher who is a prima donna and hates pitching in hot weather. 685748 Yep the same guy who had the lowest ERA of any starter on your team last year... 685925 There's going to be a point in August where you look at Al Leiter and wonder why a pitcher with a sub 3 ERA only has ten decisions. It's because he can't get out of an inning throwing less than 25 pitches. He goes to three balls on every flaking hitter. That's how you burn out your bullpen. A little friendly warning... :cool
