1. Brad Fullmer seems like a good lefty bat to have on the bench.
2. We have two first basemen? :o 667291 Well Pierre covers a lot of ground .. so we don't really NEED a LF. We don't want Delgado getting injured, so it's better to play two first basemen at the same time.

how's he walking there? 656864 He takes 4 steps before he bounces the ball.
4. You hit it on the head Cangelosi Look at Mota's splits for the last 2 years.... he was dominant in innings 1-80 (April-August) but has seriously struggled in September the last two years (innings 80-100). As a closer, he will only pitch about 60-70 innings... I think he will be an oustanding closer. 655646 What if he pitches 70-75 innings and the Marlins make the playoffs? Will he fall apart there?
5. Ichiro Boone Beltre Sexson  636490 scary
6. It isn't that funny reading it. It was a lot of funnier watching it on TV.
7. Just saw this on ESPNews Link that says deal is close: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6724728/
8. I just saw this on ESPNews. edit: did a google news search. All the articles so far require subscription, but I did manage to read that the contract might possibly be bigger than the one Troy Glaus got.
9. I wouldn't be a fan anymore. If they had any players still on the team that I really liked when they were down here in Florida than I'd check to see how they're doing, but I wouldn't be a fan of the team. I'd probably follow Tampa Bay.

I guess they wanted to add another player who's had shoulder problems.
11. 2) He'd have to come way down from his demands 629299 What's he demanding? Over $10 mill. per year?
12. I think Placido Polanco injects steroids directly into his head.
13. I don't know how Mays24Bonds25 can possibly respect himself after all the bombs of idiocy he's dropped on the rest of us rational people who are looking at this situation objectively.
14. Good... now trade Josh for Dunn. :plain Maybe if you say this 8,000 more times before the season starts it'll actually happen.
15. lolz Miguel Cabrera should be moved to CLOSER.
16. Here's another article: http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctime...10301628.htm?1c
17. oh hell. i was still hoping he would stay. silly me. id rather him go to philly than the yanks. 621586 Are you sure you are a Marlin fan? 621597 why are you all on the girls business. pavano is a goner, and she has a right to state what she thinks. last time i cheked, she has freedom of speech. i dont like the yankees either. Id prefer him anywhere but there. 621610 Freedom of speech applies to the government trying to censor speech, not to a private message board. 621751 Juanky didn't tell her to shut up anyway.
18. I'm surprised he didn't charge you anything.
19. Yes! Now we can afford to get rid of Pavano!
20. :thumbdown Kidding, well sort of. I like Mikey, but I think the money could've been better spent elsewhere.
21. He won't be traded. Not happening. He can request a trade and basically make it impossible for the team to deal him without having a no-trade clause. Look at the Sun Sentinel article. 595320 Im kinda confused by what you are saying he can request a trad and that would make it impossible for the Marlins to move him? 595386 If the Marlins trade Lowell, he can then ask to be traded from his new team. So why would another team trade for him when he can just request to be traded again? I think that's what he means. 595523 but couldnt any player request to be traded? Doesnt mean it would happen but they can all ask 595529 From an article: "According to Article XX, Section C of Major League Baseball's Basic Agreement, Lowell can, as a player with at least five years of service time and a multiyear contract, request a trade from his new team if the Marlins decide to deal him. However, he can't make that request until after the completion of the season following the trade, which in this case would be 2005." The way they use "request" makes it seem as if he's earned a special right. I don't think they're using it in the general any player can request to be traded sense. I could be wrong though.

23. You can drive in a run with a ground out, while you can't with a strikeout. Same thing with fly outs, except they don't count against your average since they're sacrifice flies.
