2. Other: Marlins, Braves, Phillies, Nationals, Muts.
3. well guys off topic atleast we're not 0-2 like the muts......
4. :banghead ? I am a big Encarnacion fan but it is one game. Watch I bet the poster who started this thread would bash Encarnacion If he struck out with bases loaded in the 9th when we are down by 1. Let him play more than 1 game and start to judge If he is returning to his "2003 Form". Go MARLINS! 730532 Totally agree. It was a special moment though when he hit it. I think we were all thinking along the lines of a sac fly or single at best and he comes through with a HR 730533 Oh without question was it a remarkable hit. I am not taking it away from him. Props to ENC and I am happy to see him do well in the season opener (upset to see A-gon not do well in his ABs). Looking forward to todays game! 730536 hey guys this is the same same guy that said to trade enc and I valdez for barry zito...he never liked enc...
5. About three to four weeks ago, I sent a post saying that Juan Encarnacion would exceed his 2003 numbers and is returning back to form. After yesterday's game, there is no doubt in my mind that Encarnacion is returning to his normal form from 2003. His swing is remarkably similar to that of 2003, he's hitting breaking balls for home runs with great success, and his defensive prowless showed in yesterday's game. I believe that Juan Encarnacion may stay as the starter in right field for the rest of the season and keep Conine on the bench or force the Marlins to trade him. He is looking incredible out there. 730502 aren't u the same guy saying to trade enc and ismal valdez for barry zito???dude can u say CONTRADICTION...and u never liked him so don't praise him now..
6. I have heard several rumors that the Marlins could possibly trade either Juan Encarnacion or Jeff Conine, Ismael Valdez, and Jason Stokes to Oakland to acquire Barry Zito and Eric Brynes. Another deal that has been discussed is RP Nate Bump to Pittsburgh for RP Solomon Torres. 729124 where do you come up with this s***? if Zito is moved to the Fish, you better believe we give up a package involving Stokes, Olsen, Hermida, Vargas, Tank, Willingham, Aguila, Bazardo... some mixture of prospects right there Beane, like most GMs, would not move Zito for Niner/Enc, Valdez and Stokes that is absurd 729177 yo this guys a joke don't even read this mav its a waste of your time...
7. The Marlins have had a history of making big mid-season trades under Admin Beinfest. Two years ago, he acquired Ugueth Urbina and Jeff Conine to make it to the World Series. Last year, he got a solid catcher in Paul LoDuca, fireballer and former Gagne setup man Guillermo Mota and Juan Encarnacion. There is no reason not to believe that the Marlins could make some trades in the mid-season. Here is who I believe the Marlins have expressed interest in trading. OF Juan Encarnacion 1B Jason Stokes 3B Joe Dillon 1B/OF Jeff Conine Here is who I believe the Marlins have expressed interest in acquiring. SP Barry Zito RP Solomon Torres OF Ryan Klesko OF Bobby Higginson OF Aubrey Huff One deal that has been thoroughly discussed is between the Marlins and Athletics. I have heard several rumors that the Marlins could possibly trade either Juan Encarnacion or Jeff Conine, Ismael Valdez, and Jason Stokes to Oakland to acquire Barry Zito and Eric Brynes. This would be a significant trade if the Marlins could then reach a dealo with Barry Zito for a four to five year deal. Another deal that has been discussed is RP Nate Bump to Pittsburgh for RP Solomon Torres. He is a great setup man. What are a few trades that you think could happen? 729124 pignator ur an idiot.....wut the hell is barry zito ur bitch???damn yo let the season start and stop saying s*** that ain't even true...u IDIOT Marlins could possibly trade either Juan Encarnacion or Jeff Conine, Ismael Valdez, and Jason Stokes to Oakland to acquire Barry Zito and Eric Brynes this trade would never happen so just shut the hell up already with ur stupid rumors....
8. Couple of k's to start the game. Looks confident out there despite playing in the most critical marketplace in the league. I hope he has an awesome year, except when facing us in the WS. 729322 um hopefully when we do face him we pound the crap out of him......for leaving....
9. forget that i hate them both yankees for being greedy bastards and the sux cuz henry bought them i hate that f***er....
10. Closer: Guillermo Mota, Florida Marlins Drafted as a shortstop and converted to a pitcher, Mota has a young, fresh arm. He has served as an apprentice under Eric Gagne and Armando Benitez, and he has finally graduated to the closer's role. He has the stuff to be dominating and the nasty demeanor that the role demands. The Marlins will give him a lot of opportunities to close games because of their deep and potent offense as well as their quality starting rotation. Mota could 50 saves in his first year as a closer. link i believe if he stays healthy along with the marlins offense and pitching, then he certainly can hit the 50 save plateu 729265 yes i belive he can.......
11. Pierre is really the key to this offense. Hopefully with him in the lineup our offensive issues will be solved and it's always nice to have a 200 hit, 40 steal guy leading off for us. 728170 hey frits y is dontrell in your s*** list??? i can understand beckett and lo puca, but y dontrell?
12. I know Beckett is the Ace so will the rotation look like this (please correct me if I am wrong) 1. Beckett 2. Leiter 3. AJ 4. D-Train 5. Valdez ? 728178 u got it thats the rotation.....
13. Andruw Jones is having an amazing spring. He may have a big year. 725992 once again two words: Abe Nunez 726072 i gotta agree with that...but don't forget he killed us last year...
14. fav: miguel cabrera least: nate bum

19. Treanor proved last season he couldn't handle it (alone anyway) Jorg is unproven DeFelice is your only real option 717786 I agree 717839 same i agree with both
20. yes good decision..........and nice post
21. Just food for thought for those against Robinson because of last years performance: 2003 Marlins team hit: 266/333/421 2004 Marlins team hit: 264/329/406 A little less power, but you should expect that when you lose a D. Lee, you can't teach power. But lookie there, D. Lee and Pudge also were great for average hitters and knew how to reach base, and both those numbers barely dropped... someone has to be doing something right. Also lets look at why we might have scored less runs last year. 2003 Marlins: 150 SB 2004 Marlins: 96 SB It might just be me but that is a significant difference. So all of you ragging on Robinson for last year, what do you want him to do? The Marlins basically copied their numbers from 2003, save a little less power, but you can't teach power. The big change was in the stolen base department, but I figure you vultures will find someway to blame it on him, since you guys take views as narrow as can be. 717775 damn for the first time i actually agree with u............. :shifty :mischief2
22. My thread . . . 714234 hey i apologize.....but is this wut a forum is for talking things out???that's wat i was doing until he called me obnoxious and irrational...so again i'm sorry and maxx plz tell him the same 714242 Although he had no right to say it either, you were being obnoxious and irrational, saying someone sucks for the sake of saying it without any facts is obnoxious. Just cool it man, have fun but don't over do it either. 714243 np i'll take ur advice but u should have warned him too
23. My thread . . . 714234 hey i apologize.....but is this wut a forum is for talking things out???that's wat i was doing until he called me obnoxious and irrational...so again i'm sorry and maxx plz tell him the same
24. Don't you guys get that Rolando is being obnoxious and irrational on PURPOSE? Just ignore him. 714227 no u dousch i'm aurguing my case read before u type u moron
25. but we came back when everybody had the the red sux and the cubs in the world series.....they also gave us no chance against the yunkees and we beaten in 6 and it took the red sux 7 to beat them.....they my friend are OVERATED Yeah, because coming back from a 3-0 deficit, when NO team in baseball has ever done that, is overrated. You can hate them all you want, but don't say they're overrated after what they did last year. 714215 dude i get the point they did it LAST YEAR........BUt they suck and it will take them another 80 years to get another one.. 714217 Right. But don't say Damon's a worthless player after all he did for the Sox last year. 714219 ok man with all the respect in the world to me johny damon is worthless.....he's not the key to every redsox victory like let's say a jp...so to me he's worthless..
