Why are some of you Marlin fans?
So tell me... Why are you really a Marlin fan? question To spite ... Selig ? you mean the guy who found an owner for the team when no one else wanted them by giving loria a sweetheart deal to buy the team. i might have missed something but i never realized selig was anti-marlins or even anti-south florida. i would say he has been quite the opposite.

When will this ever end?
That really might be the funniest thing I've read all night. Girardi leaving Willis out there showed his lack of faith in the bullpen, true, but there was no underlying message to "get help in the 'pen." You don't plead for help when you know none is coming, it's just a waste of everyone's time, and you certainly don't show up your team's best pitcher to make a point. If Girardi had that as his motivation for sending Dontrelle out to get his whupping, then Girardi's dumber than even I credit him for. If this ownership group were dedicated to winning this year or even spending a modest sum on the team perhaps your argument has legs, but in the team's current state and its forseeable future it's an inane argument. yup because joe sending the message to the FO "you don't care about winning, then neither do i" is hilarious. both sides can say all they want joe knew what he was getting into with this team, but i don't think when he took the job knowing the only two holdovers he would have were cabs and dontrelle. nor do i believe he thought he was going to be looking at a lineup of 6 rookies a night and a payroll of $15 mill. isn't the FOs complete lack of willingness to spend money to try and win a waste of time and effort for all involved anyway? if joe and jeff get into a pissing match jeff can't win. he fires joe, joe will find another job again rather quickly because no one will blame him for what happens here, after all most of the baseball world already has their mind made up over loria & co, as well as the marlins current situation. and loria would have a heck of a time trying to find someone else to head the ship, would just need to find someone desperate enough to get a managing position, someone who probably could never get such a position in their wildest dreams.

When will this ever end?
ya know giardi always using herges and the other sucky rps, then again we really don't have many who aren't, and leaving willis in late could be his way of trying to tell the front office to get him someone he could trust in these situations because he doesn't trust anyone in the pen. then again: 1) you guys are too full of venom to think of that or 2) you guys think joe isnt smart enough to do that or 3) a mix of 1 and 2

Your beloved Florida Marlins v. the Phightin' Phillies----5/2/2006
why does it look like Olsen is holding his breath? because the marlins photographer is also their doctor, at that moment he was also checking olsen's prostate. its a cost cutting move if you ask me it was worth it.

I hate Joe Girardi
girardi was a yankee that makes him qualified enough for the job for jeff.

Joey Harrington to the Phins Off?
Exactly my point. not everyone, especially qbs perform immediately and they need time to develop. joey was thrown into the fire and now he wants to be put on the back burner for a while, yet you blame him for that. qbs who developed over time while not in a high pressure situation: hasselback green warner palmer was given a whole year to develop etc. joey has realized he needs more time to develop and you fault him for it. he was thrown right into the fire when he came out and joined the lions, which isn't exactly the best situation to be part of.

I hate Joe Girardi
rookie coach with 4 or 5 mlb level players at the most. what do you expect?

New oil shock ahead as $100 spike looms
this is all just a result of the oil glut in the 1980s. prices have been a lot lower than they should have been because the market had been saturated, now it isn't so the actual price of oil is making itself known.

Joey Harrington to the Phins Off?
For the record, the fact that Joey wants to go backup Daunte Culpepper more than having a chance to win the job in Cleveland says a lot about him. And not in a good way. it's a two year deal. he will get a chance to start at least the first two weeks of the year, best case scenario for him he will be able to start the first four. and culpepper will get hurt again sometime between then and the end of next year, so he will see more time. but this will also give joey the chance to learn from a better qb and a lot of guys seem to want to play for saban right now. playing as a backup in miami takes the pressure off and in cleveland he'll be replaced in a year or two anyway now.

Notice to Oil Companies stop posting Record profits. yeah shame on them for making money how dare they. i have more of a problem with government making a crazy amount of money from all of this.

Bush is not going 1st overall
No, I agree, but the Texans are a whole lot more than Williams or Bush away from winning. If they weren't committed to taking the best player available, they could have served themselves much better by getting serious value out of trading the #1 pick. honestly i don't think many teams wanted to be the team to be 'forced' to take bush. for whatever reason, for all the talk about him being the concensus number 1 i don't think anyone wanted to be the team sitting at the top to be obligated to take him, not even the jets. i think the jets are the team who want him the most but even i don't think they are much more in love with him than anyone else. yes the texans need a lot of help but if they believe mario is a cornerstone than they did the right thing by taking him. even if they traded down and got a bunch of picks they will be picking in the top 10 again next year anyway. they have a rb with some years left in him, a young #1 wr in johnson (once moulds retires), and carr is still relatively young. i say build up the defense this year and next year start focusing on the offense because those pieces are still young enough to be thinking 2-3 years down the road. Brees and Bush in the same off-season? What a haul for the Saints. brees had LT and not much came of that and i am not ready to say reggie will be better than LT. all the luck to him but LT is kinda good. he also had that gates guy.

Bush is not going 1st overall
I'm really shocked that they didn't just do what the Chargers did with Vick and just trade the pick. They probably could have slid all the way to #4 and still gotten Williams, all while getting pretty much the entire Jets draft. but mario williams wouldn't be there at 4. NO woulda taken him. apparently there is a couple teams who have mario at the top of their boards. what wins championships in the nfl? the defense. and houston's thing is that mario will become the cornerstone of their defense. will that work out? maybe not, but they figure he will pan out for that reason. i can't blame them for thinking defenses win championships looking at the last few years. you don't need a top line runner to win.

Delmon Young Is In Trouble
Meh. That pitch was obviously not a strike. That'll teach the ump not to call pitches that are two feet outside a strike. i don't remember eric gregg getting a bat thrown at him and that game meant something. :mischief i heard today that apparently though the ump was showing delmon and others up by striking a pose after each strike he called but still you can't toss a bat at the guy.

13-13
Hate to be a dick, but how do you figure? 6-13 (present) 7-4 (hypothetical record over next 11) ----- 13-17 (not .500) win the first 7 of the homestand then lose the next 4 :shifty

Charlie Casserly is the biggest moron ever! If im a poor Texans fan I would be so f-ing pissed right now. meh most of them apparently wanted vince so their brain power as a whole may be lacking as is.

Bush is not going 1st overall
wow... rbs tend to be less of a bust than de's, but whatever. that #2 pick is going to become a commodity now.
