Endless Wire
Unlike the Stones, Pete wasn't going to release crap for the sake of releasing something. Anyone who has listened to anything the Who released after Keith died, or anyone who has listened to 90% of Pete's solo career would vehemently disagree.

Rush Limbaugh mocks Michael J. Fox ad
Come on, let's hear how people defend Rush now. Please? Uh... after receiving about 1000 phone calls from people saying it was legit and alienating tens of thousands of listeners he appologized? :shrugs Granted, I'm not a big proponent of "stars" in politics, but still. I still want to see one of those church ads trying to make the counter point. :mischief2 "What would Jesus do?" BTW, the title of this thread is from the MSNBC.com/Washington Post story and is not accurate. Rush did not mock Fox, he scorned him, but didn't mock him. Well, they showed the video from his show taping on CBS news last night and he was mimicing Fox. If that's not mockery, I don't know what is. The guy is a sh*t stain on the already crap filled landscape of american politics.

From The WTF Dept: Phillies Sign 43 year old Moyer to 2 year extension
The problem with this signing is you can't rely on Jamie Moyer to be a 1 or 2 pitcher for you. At best he's a 4 at this point in his career and if the Phils want to get to the post season, do they want to be spending this much money on a #4 pitcher? And you can rely on Rogers to be a 1 or 2. He's got a 3.84 era in a pitchers park. I wouldn't say any team is in good shape if they have to rely on Rogers as a 1 or 2, his baffling postseason not counting.

Rush Limbaugh mocks Michael J. Fox ad
Is anybody really surprised by Rush Limbaugh anymore? He just felt like he wasn't getting enough attention, so he said something ridiculous to get his name back out there. He does this every few years.

Three years ago today...
I was at Game 4 of the series, and when Alex won the game with the homer it was mass pandemonium. I didn't leave the parking lot until about 4 am. It was amazing. (although I think my favorite celebration, personally, was when the heat won it all last year. We had like 40 people at my house and when the final buzzer rang, everyone basically made a huge dogpile. It was awesome. And yes, alcohol was involved, which explains it)

Moyer has been better in his career than Rogers, for what it's worth.

Surprisingly, FL Gov Race Tighter Than Expected...
WPTV here in West Palm Beach aired a story a few nights ago where they did a local poll and surveyed I believe it was something like 1,000 local residents, I can't remember the number but something like 60% have never even heard of Jim Davis. Well, it's a good thing only about 20% of eligible voters tend to vote in the mid terms.

Rogers smudge or CHEAT?
Allowing foreign substances on a ball is moronic, especially if the motivation is "well, if a hitter can put pinetar on his bat..." I'm with you; it's not at all the same. A batter can use a small amount of pine tar to get a grip on a piece of lumber that they are swinging at a high rate of velocity with no intention to release. If nothing else, the pine tar on the HANDLE of a bat assists with safety. Pine tar is NOT allowed on the barrel of the bat, however, as that does give a batter an edge. No it doesn't. That's an antiquated rule that was implemented to keep balls clean and keep balls reusable thus keeping costs down. The whole "pine tar line" on the bat is nothing more than a symbol, there's absolutely zero advantage to having pine tar higher than that line, or on the barrel. Doesn't it make the bat harder thus causing the hit balls to go further?

Play My Son, Or Get Shot
If only they would take pee wee football games off of the gun free zone. Then this would have been avoided... We need to train our pee wee football coaches how to handle concealed weapons.

I took the oath!
Good luck, man. It's nice to see someone who truly believes in a cause and is actually doing something about it. If more people were like you and acted like they spoke, this world would be a better place.

JJ Redick Projected stats
I'm sorry I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea that a guy who has never been a regular starter in the NBA and averaged all of 16 points and 4.6 assists in college (against subpar opposition, since he played for FIU) is the best backup point guard in the NBA, and according to your original post, one of the best in the world, period. It doesn't make sense, is all I'm saying. He's a nice player, but there are literally dozens of better point guards. He's a career backup for a reason.
