  1. I might have missed this but where's Willy? hurt hand
  2. He'll be traded in '09. Almost funny. It might be the optomist in me, but I could see 2007. Depending how he does the rest of this year and then midway through next season. I hope not. There is absolutely 0 reason to rush this kid. Then again, if he goes Mike Pelfrey on our asses, why the hell not.
  3. I would much rather lead in strike outs than double plays... Sometimes that is good and bad. Ground ball= Hit the ball... K= Cant hit it A strikeout isnt always the worst thing.
  4. 1987 - Tigers trade John Smoltz to Atlanta Braves for Doyle Alexander But Doyle did go 9-0 for the Tigers after the trade in leading them to the playoffs, and the following year he was an All Star. Then again, in 1989 he lost 18 games so
  5. ESPN reports that Ben does NOT have Pennsylvania motorcycle license.
  6. Ron Gant and Aaron Boone....two other guys who've broken contracts with dumb stuff... Gant in 1994 after breaking his leg on a motorcycle Boone in 2004 after pickup basketball game Didn't Jeff Kent get hurt "washing his truck"?
  7. Have fun. When you have fun you win. Simple as that. :lol :lol I think I just vomited in my mouth a bit. Sorry but its true. Do you have evidence? When you have fun, you win?.... I dont buy that for 1 millisecond.

  9. Quite a blow to the ND Football program
  10. While their on field statistics are very similar, Lo Duca brings to the table all the intangibles which Olivo can't even be comprehend. But Paulie had the "intangibles" haha, beat me to it. I'm thinking roundingthird was being sarcastic about "intangibles". They don't mean a damn thing and give examples of why Lo Duca has more intangibles than Olivo ? Correct Godfather *kisses hand*.
  11. I found this piece on Garcia from another site: http://marlinsminors.mostvaluablenetwork.com/ After dominating high-A Jupiter for over 2 months, Marlins righthander Jose Garcia got the promotion to double-A Carolina. His first outing for the Mudcats was fantastic. He went 6 innings, gave up 5 hits and 1 run(unearned) while walking 3 and striking out 4 in the Mudcats win. Before the promotion earlier in the week, Garcia had been 6-2 with a 1.87era in 12 appearances for the Jupiter Hammerheads, 11 of them being starts. In his 77 innings, he struck out 69 while walking just 16 and giving up only 60 hits. In only his second season in America (his first 3 years were spent with the Dominican Summer League), Garcia has cemented himself as the next big Marlins pitching prospect. At just 21 years old, Jose was 13-11 with a 1.97era in 48 games in his professional career before this season. His fastball ranges from 90-93mph with it topping out at 95 occasionally. He has shown a solid changeup for his age level and talent level but it still needs improvement for it to be a ?plus? 2nd pitch. His 3rd pitch is a slider that if improved could someday be his most impressive pitch, but right now it?s not even a solid complementary one. Though some scouts believe he could be a devastating set-up man in the future, there is a small faction of scouts who believe Garcia reminds them of Pedro Martinez. In the same build as Pedro, the 5 foot 11 Garcia has an easygoing personality and teammates love him. Sounds alot like Pedro?. something I could get used to.
  12. But Paulie had the "intangibles"
  13. I always thought Bret Hart was Canadian.
