Brett Myers Blowup (AUDIO, I got the exclusive folks)
Wow, you guys had me all confused! I thought you were saying that the guy writes for the National Enquirer. Two laughs out of one thread, that's special.

Next Year's 25 man roster
are you high? Hermida on the bench? Have you not noticed over the last year+ that I hate the guy?

Anyone have experience with website design?
Thanks Admin, downloaded the free trial. It's pretty easy to work with, I'm getting the hang of it pretty quickly. What kind of website are you doing? maybe i can give you some pointers. Do you have your own server or are you going to need to buy one online (for hosting your page)? It's a website for a small business. Pretty basic stuff, just informational and some pictures. I'll be using an outside server to host. Any recommendations for hosting? Is GoDaddy decent? Yep Godaddy is great. Ive also used StartLogic.com which is also great, i haven't had problems with it. Downtime is minimal to none. great servers and they are real cheap too. look around first if your gonna be using outside servers, make sure they have 24hr live chat help. If its your first time, you'll probably end up using it. Cool, thanks for all the input. I went through the dreamweaver tutorial today and I'm feeling pretty good with it, not even considering hiring a pro at this point (not that i'm instantly a pro, but I've produced what I need for now.)

New Jersey Teen Unlocks iPhone
The ebay auction is up to $99,999,999.00 and counting. Sucks how these things always end up being a farce on ebay.

Anyone have experience with website design?
So I need to get a website up. I've done a couple of websites before, mostly using "HTML for Dummies" as a guide. I was wondering if anyone on the board could recommend some good design software and/or give some perspective on the usefulness of hiring a pro to do the design work. Anyone have an opinion on that?

Clap?
A buddy of mine got the clap one time. He said it sucked. Count me out!

The Rangers suck..
Tremblay still want to come back next year? LMAO! What a great gift from his team after signing an extension.

Soldiers' Eye-Witness Account of the Iraq War...
I am anything but pleased on how this conflict has unfolded thus far and was merely pointing out the fact that it is ridiculous to give any real weight to the opinions of seven disgruntled GIs, considering the magnitude of the entire situation. Of course the bleeding hearts will never see it this way though and will continue to overstate its impact... Just so you know, there are more than seven disgruntled soldier in the Army. Oh, and GI's is generally viewed as a very disrespectful term. It personally offends me as a veteran.

Nasty remarks towards Rich and Tommy
Agreed, Rich is blah. He seems wierd and uncomfortable to me. Doesn't have that smooth flow the way someone like Len Kasper or Boog does. Tommy's good even if he's getting a little crotchety. I don't think he's any more a homer than any other teams' color guys are. I like Roxy on the radio actually. Roxy & Tommy would be my duo right now. Agreed, I enjoy Roxy a lot. Roxy is outstanding! He used to do radio for the High Desert Mavericks, a local MiLB team.

Nasty remarks towards Rich and Tommy
I like the Marlins' announcers. The Nats and Orioles have brutal guys in their booths if you ask me.

If Cabrera to 1B next year...
I don't know who, but I don't think it'll be Amezaga.

Conine belongs back here
Screw it, let's retire Chuck Carr's number.

Miguel Olivo
Willingham shouldn't even be considered a catcher anymore. I still can't bring myself to consider him a LFer.

Vin Scully poll
I was watching a Dodger game with some friends the other night and somehow we got on an odd tangent and made a pact to go to Vin Scully's funeral. Yes, a bit of alcohol was involved. Vin is a legend, especially among Dodger fans.
-
Miguel Olivo
If Treanor is the best defensive catcher on the team and Willingham is the best offensive catcher on the team why is Olivo even on the roster?

Conine belongs back here
I could see him signing for a day to retire as a Marlin. He's definitely done after this season though.

Ricky Nolasco updates
Ricky is expecting to be activated around Tuesday. He said that Fredi wants him in the pen because if he came back to the rotation he would only have 3-4 starts left in the season. That didn't make much sense to me, but whatever. Ricky said his arm felt the best it has this year in his last start with Jupiter, with velocity around 91-92 and no more pain when following through on his curveball. He's anxious to get back to Miami and play ball, not to mention that the food in Jupiter sucks and the only poker game around is at a dog track. No idea where you got this information from. From everything I have read he is still a ways away from coming back. May not make an appearance at all this year. Consistency in his velocity seems to be the thing. That's from the Marlins web site and from the PBP. I say don't rush things. We are going no where in particular, our pen is doing just fine, we want to see how some of the youngsters can handle MLB hitters and give them some experience at this level. In other words, he's not really needed. So why take any chances? The food in Jupiter, either at the ball park or the surrounding area, is so far from sucky as to question the rest of this post. Want better poker than at he Palm Beach Kennel Club? It's not exactly a week end trip to Broward for those two casinos. Just because things aren't 10 minutes away dosen't mean you need a passport to go there. Ricky is his cousin Brother in law. He said today that he's looking at being activated thursday if he's going to the pen, otherwise starting and throwing four innings in Jupiter thursday if they want him to start. He was told to "be ready for anything" because of the need for starters right now. It's not so much that the food is awful (apparently the chick that makes sandwiches at the local Publix knows how to handle her turkey) but that things close pretty early. We shall see. Pretty contradictory statements. Anyway, Ricky needs to get out more. Or at least get away from the general Jupiter/Albacoa area. I would think after all the time he has spent in PBC he would know the local hot spots for eating. Of course I have no idea what he considers "early." But restaurants don't close down any earlier here than they do anywhere else. Now I could see if he complaining/comparing club house food. He wants a good sandwich? Roger Dean Stadium is within 5 miles of THE BEST lunch/deli in all of PBC, IMO. Basically serves the blue collar crowd so is open only Monday-Friday and just for lunches (9:30-2:00). All Boars Head products, home made deserts and side dishes (including soups), huge sandwiches, and cheaply priced. Take I-95 south to Blue Heron. East to first left (between the gas station and the car dealership). Take first left and then first right. Place is on the left (7535 Enterprise Drive in Riviera Beach if he has a GPS). Called "Two Fat Guys." Order the "The Fat Guy" (6.50) And whatever the desert of the day is. And then forget all about that chick at Publix. Only 3 small tables there (maybe 4) as it mostly take out. No I don't own the place. No I don't have any financial interests in the place. No they aren't related in any way. One of my main wholesalers is right around the corner and I eat there at least once a week. I'll eat a late lunch if I know I am going to be in the area. Sounds good, i'll forward that to him. Looks like he's off to AA for a four inning stretch out. He was the Southern League Pitcher of the Year in 2005, so hopefully he's nice and comfortable. We'll see what happens from there. Anybody know some good restaurants in Zebulon, NC?

Ricky Nolasco updates
Put the kids in and rest anyone who might remotely get injured. This Fish aren't going anywhere fast this season anyhow. I'm not sure if that comment is aimed at perticular "kids" but I don't see any reason to start the clock on a guy like Gaby. Let him grow where he is at, don't waste his MLB time on a throw-away season.
