Why do you guys think Kranitz got his job? (I'm not being sarcastic at all.) Do you think it was mainly due to his being "next in line" with the Cubs for so long and the fact that three of the guys that were supposed to be in last year's rotation (Willis, Mitre, Nolasco) all came out of the Cubs' system? Did his relationship with Girardi play a major role? Did he have someone else politicking for him? Personally I can't see why he would be counted on any further. He served one rung below Admin Rothschild, the guy who has had stars such as Kerry Wood and Mark Prior have their health deteriorate for whatever reason. Now look at the health of the Marlins' staff this season. Something is wrong- the strength and conditioning program, healthcare, etc. for these guys simply MUST be lacking some fundamental aspect.

And he did get shelled his first start in AAA. Nothing against Mr. Carlos Enrique Nolasco, but I think concern about his health is well justified. Concern is one thing, spreading rumors about needing surgery is another.
