  1. Not right now but send me your resume'. Send it to Henry@buypip.com . I will look it over and reach out to you when we hire again. Making....Connections!
  2. 97 sleeveless. That is all. Needed the 93-96 road caps (teal/black) and the home cap - teal. 97 was all black all the time. That's what I hated about it. Kind of like V.Stivanos Instagram feed. Sincerely, D. Toskowitz
  3. You and Wild Card have a lot in common, actually. We should pair you off in a battle of the wits. Right? We are pretty friggin awesome. I think you'd do great at in a battle of the twats myself. I'll even sponsor your competition fee.
  4. I read the article and I guess that it would be interesting to fans that like sabermetrics. I for one don't understand how anyone can enjoy the game that way. I'm not knocking anyone for being into these stats. That is your right and if it makes the game more enjoyable for you then great. For me personally, I have a mortgage to pay, a wife, four kids to support, and I own four insurance agencies in Miami Dade. That is reality enough for me . When I get home and watch the Marlins, it's a get a way for me and the last thing that I want to hear about is a players BABIP, OPS, or WAR. I just want to see my fish play and compete. I always believe they can win and defy the odds. A bit naive perhaps but in the end that optimism is what makes it enjoyable for me. When I want to be a "realist" I walk away from the TV and go back to reality. Again, this is not a knock on sabermetrics supporters. I just wanted to give a perspective from a fan that doesn't care for advanced stats because it seems to me that many times on these boards people with a different perspective get dismissed as dumb or ignorant and ge made fun of by the resident forum statisticians. Just my two cents. Are you hiring? Legit question!
  5. Dude, you just seem to pick and choose what you want to hear from me every conversation we have. I completely agreed that parks play a factor, the only thing I said was you shouldn't hold where a player plays his home games against him. I see you've met Penguino.
  6. i DVR both the Marlins and the opposing team broadcasts each night just in case there's a walk-off win so i can go and listen to the dejection in the other teams broadcast duo. the mets guys did NOT approve of the "throwing water" everywhere after the game at all. it made them sound like cranky old men. i watched it 3 more times. Sounds like Keith Hernandez.
  7. Ha! I knew it! I saw it and immedietaly thought of you. Of course I've never actually seen you before so I wasn't sure but I right away thought there was a good chance of it. Nice. Sadly, I didn't DVR it. It's cool, I actually got home and took pics of the replay at 2PM. Kinda funny. My friends dad wouldn't let me take off the helmet the whole game. Considering I was close to the field and it got lucky in the 8th, I couldn't remove it.
  8. If anyone DVRd the game can you please post a screen grab of me right after the McGehee post game interview? You'll know me when you see me, just before the commercial break.
  9. There's an article out there about how Hernandez hit a bunch of grounders to Capps at short and had him throw to 1B to figure out what his natural arm-slot was. This supposedly allowed them to fix his delivery. Seems to have worked, so far. If that was really the problem, we got very good value for LoMo. Can you find it?
  10. He's always been touted as a potential future closer. His stuff plays very well in the backend of a bullpen. If he throws strikes on a more consistent basis, he has the stuff to dominate. A fastball that can touch triple digits can't be taught. His slider is a + pitch, as well. As a reliever, that's all you need. His #'s in the big leagues last year weren't good, but that was mostly due to an inflated total of HR's allowed. His #'s in the minor leagues were rather dominant and more telling of how good his stuff is. Capps easily has the best stuff in the bullpen -- Cishek included. The difference is that Cishek knows how to pitch while Capps is still more of a thrower with inconsistent command. Capps has a lot of upside though and should get a shot considering that all of our other relievers have the same issues but with lesser stuff. I'd like to see Capps get an opportunity. He's already earned the opportunity with his four innings of work so far considering what the other guys in the pen have done. With your words my opinion is formed, Capps to the 7th and a promotion to the. 8th in a month. He always struck me as having potential, but I feel like MR/CL are hard to get a feeling of in the minors. He's got weapons, I hope he learns how to annihilate using them. Nothing sadder than seeing someone have a gun but they fumble with the safety- that's how I feel with relievers with potential who can't throw strikes.
  11. Teal was a beautiful color- the black- centric uniforms they trotted out from 2003-2011 were atrocious. 1993-1996 was the best time as a marlins fan if you loved teal- 2012 to now is great if you like colors other than black. I like out uniforms, especially with the orange caps!
  12. Death by SnuSnu!
  13. Carter Capps Do you truly believe he's the answer? I'm not disagreeing or agreeing, just gauging your opinion on him- Elaborate and form my opinion for me!
  14. We will see the Grey Jersey this year, and it will be worn with a special patch---- I guarantee it!
  15. Hey guys, we need bullpen help----- Heath Bell was just DFA, should we take a chance...... Who am I kidding "bleep" him! Who does everyone think is a capable MR either on this team or who's available that can bridge that gap from starter to 9th inning and Cishek - a Chad Bradford type if you will?

Oh have the heavy have fallen- looks like the Rays put Bell out of his misery and he finally failed Gods Test. Im so happy for the city of Tampa right now.... http://m.espn.go.com/mlb/story?storyId=10881104&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F%22%7D He'll resign for a minor league deal with SD won't he?
  17. Probably made to make sure they don't pay a guy to rehab just to play against them the next year. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ryan Madsen injury started that clause- / option
  18. I liked the Furcal signing - I still do. I viewed him as a capable 2b compared to what we had on te roster last year- and even though he's proven nothing I feel his signing showed a commitment to try to fill holes the team had last year. It also showed they would open their wallet a bit and pay for someone- It hasn't worked- but it proved they wanted to do better instead of just handing Solano the job.
  19. Coming back from behind is still so foreign to me- but it's great. Fuck you Atlanta! Let's bring another home. I don't care if they steal home.
  20. Orange with black caps tonight- never have I seen that before.
  21. How can we finish last? There are only 5 teams in our division and we are going to finishing higher than Atlanta and Phily..... Sports Illustrated can't count.
  22. He does have a point- how many 3 up , 3 down innings did we have? What's it going to be like with a team that can hit for a league average OBP?
  23. This is a great idea, I think Mike Piazza should be at 2B though. I mean, if Cabs is at 1b and Gs27 is in center why not.
  24. You can bring your own item to get signed, if not they have generic marlins cards available. Parking is 5 in the home plate garage. Buy a authentic $20 ball from Walmart and a pack of cheap blue pens (Bic). That's the best combo. The blue pens don't bleed or fade on the real leather. Everything else disappears after a few years or looks like junk. Or use a hat and sharpie.
  25. Is this the yearly "we're going to be better than the Braves" post? Always.... Better....Than....The... BRAVES!
