I like it, as an American, you build from your parents culture and nationalities and to mold create a beautiful and dynamic melting pot. Rules for the WBC states Nationality, not country of citizenship. Which is why Piazza played for Italy, AROD is playing for DR. If you can prove you have that blood, you can play for them. A bit more relaxed the the IOC, but its a good thing. Teams like Africa, Uraguay, Czech, Netherlands can all field a decent team. Face it, there's 40 bonafide stars that can play for the US. For the DR or for Italy, theres probably 10-15. Even less for Netherlands or Africa.

Hopefully Frisaro is just trying to make it look like Bonifacio actually may play a role on this team to make the Nats trade look a little better... I think when the trade was made Admin (or someone upstairs) did make a comment about taking a look at Bonifacio at third, it's not that Frisaro is making anything up or is trying to mislead anyone, as I said above I think it was in the context that (putting words in L arry's mouth) "...we think the guy has a lot of tools and can do a lot of things for a ballclub...he's speedy...has great hands...blah blah blah...and we're planning on giving him a look at third this spring..." something like that. You can read that any way you want, it's certainly open to interpretation. I took it in the context of EB in a utility role, at least for the time being, but they also said right from the beginning there was a strong/good/likely (you pick the word you think fits) chance Bonifacio at least starts the year in AAA. We can always build the main structure with chairs and removable concession stands. Then in the winder of 2010 install some permanent amenities, then the same in the winter of 2011. Like FIU's doing with their stadium.

Honestly, theres something nice about being able to park your car in Dadeland and taking th metro to the Heat games, as rare as I go to em. If The same could be done for the marlins, I'd be all over it. But one of my biggest problems coming up from near homestead to the Broward Line is the driving, the traffic midday, and the gas it takes to get there. Not to mention the Parking. Think about it from a College guys standpoint. To take my girl to the game, its already 30 bucks out of pocket to just get there, and another 30 for tickets. To see a regular season game that sometimes has all the pre game excitement of a snail walking through a porch. I mean, its not cool seeing Nolaskkko or Olsen go up against other teams 4th or 5th starters. Not to mention that my luck tends to work out that some teams are resting starters 2/5 times I go. It's rare the matchups work out 1 vs 1 here in miami, and even rarer i have the money to go when they do match up. In summary, The location sucks. I wish it was closer to public transportation and 15 mins closer to a nightspot.

The marlins cover hotels, which can run 200 a day. They wont cover apratments, which can run 400 a week. Sounds to me the players just went and did their own thing then expected the marlisn to pick up the check. Plus, don't they have housing in jupiter for players? WTF would they get an apartment?
