I think a Tex and ohman or gonzalez from the braves to the marlins in exchange for jacobs, and 2 or 3 prospects B or c level will be great for both teams. an upgrade in the bullpen right now, a upgrade at first now, and when tex walks, 2 draft picks in the 1st 45 picks of the draft. chris

I wonder why no one has thought of this. The braves are probably goign to be selling around the deadline, and their two key pieces are mike gonzalez and mark texiera. trading both together will help atlanta recoup some of the prospects they lost getting tex to begin with. Why doesnt florida pick up the phone and hit up Atlantas GM. Jacobs, and 3 minor leaguers for Tex and Gonzalez would work for both teams. ATL gets a ML 1b and 3 minorleaguers for a guy who will walk at the end of the year and a reliever. FLA gets a upgrade at 1b for the stretch run defensively and a push at offense. Plus a reliever. No to mention, when Texiera walks, we get 2 1st rounders because he's a restricted free agent. (i believe).

The money made off the event is goign to charity, so to be honest i hope he shows up. He might show up, and donate half the moeny himself. 25,000 is alot of cheese, and when you get it and have the auto sale go to charity its worth it.

I find it fascinating and I wonder if this trend will continue. Maybe this belongs in the bullpen, but with the weak dollar foreign countries have been buying up American assets for awhile, and now we are seeing another important asset - our athletes - head to other countries where they can now afford to pay them large contracts in US dollars. Right now obviously it is only mid level players, but I'll be interested to see how this develops. If this starts happening in baseball with legit free agents who get tons of interest (Like Pudge before) I can see a true world series happening before 2020.

I'm going with... Scott Olsen Reasoning: Scott Olsen has given us more chances to win than anyone else. While Nolasco has been pushed as our "ace", Scotty has been steadier. He has more starts of 7 innings or more (9 vs 7), has more quality starts (12 vs 11) and a higher percentage of quality starts (60% vs 58%). Scotty has only had 2 games with 5 or more earned runs, Nolasco has 4. Going into the 2nd half, all the talk has been about Nolasco, Johnson, Volstad, and even Anibal Sanchez. Everyone forgets about the steady, consistent Olsen. So, for giving us more chances to win than anyone else and still being considered inferior, I nominated Scott Olsen for the most under-appreciated player on the team. I second this- ans he's really matured from the fighting southpaw to a calm and calculated southpaw. To be honest, him wanting to be the ace seems to have picked everybody up in a 'Well if he can do it, I definatly can" type of way.

I'd take baker over treanor. Baker is unproven but has more of a upside. We've seen te best of Treanor already. We know he's a great defender with a below average bat. Baker is still young and can prove to either be a great catcher, or a so so catcher. We'll see what he can provide the next month or so. I'd like to see something saying Martin wants out. Remember, LA has a history of trading their prize backstop in their prime. Piazza, LoDuca, Navarro. They are to catchers what UM used to be for RB's. He'll follow in the footsteps of Piazza and Loduca- New York Via FLA. Chris

I've been hearing some rumors. Bowmeester for Kopitar. I think this would work out well for both teams. can you share where you heard that? Hockeybuzz.com I usually don't put too much stock into the rumors that are posted on that site. I'd say for every correct rumor that is posted there there are 10-15 bogus ones. But this trade seems to make sense. LA needs a puck moving defensman and the Cats need scoring. Both players are rumored to be bieng shopped around by their teams. I think it would take Bowmeester and some more talent to pry Kopitar from LA though. Doesnt LA have Jack Johnson and Rob Blake? Besides Blake getting up there in age, Why would they trade Kopitar for Bo if they have a former 1st round pick on their blue line? Chris

Looks good, but my only gripe is that the main page isnt updated as often as it should to keep the big picture up. Usually games are there a day or two after. Maybe making another story type the first one would give it a more "updated routinely and often" look? or a rotating storyline like the official team site? Seeign that baker thing for 2 days confused me today. If you would like, I can do game by game updates as often as possible. I just wouldnt know how to update it. Dumb Question considering that I play hockey and love the panthers- Why the hell are we entertaining trading Bouw? Is there a riff or something or are we in a rebuilding phase. I havent seen the team do anything all offsason to improve, so I am assuming we are rebuilding. BTW- the blurbs in the herald suck!
