  1. No, I've had to raise the volume up/down a lot so far in the game and had no problem. But as for the commercials, they are always like 10 times louder then the game for me.
  2. That's not his purpose though. It would be one thing if we were holding on to him for his hitting skills. We're holding onto him because of his deffensive skills, and he comes through.
  3. Miguel Olivo needs to go. Add Matt Treanor to the list. Matt Treanor is fine - as a back up. Olivo would also probably be fine as a back up.
  4. Is BABIP normally higher in the minors then majors (Due to weaker defenses, worst pitching, and such)? I was looking more in depth of Carroll's stats the other day, and saw he had a real high BABIP (.373), which look like it would explain a lot. But he had a low BABIP in AA (.312), so that should show that, even if how good he's been in AAA is a result of luck, he should still be able to hit well, just not as good as he has been hitting.
  5. Mildren pitched last night And had real close to a 1:1 Strike:Walk ratio. :\
  6. It was also on Yahoo!'s news. There are about two other instances of when a hog around this size was killed (one of which is being turned into a horror movie), so it's deffinatly believable.
  7. I really doubt trading foir kenny lofton would jeopardize our future Well like I said, Texas would have to eat a lot of his salary, really raising his price tag a lot. We would have to give up a good prospect. If we're going to give up a good prospect, I'd much rather get someone better or younger.
  8. When it comes to giving up a prospect for one year (Well, 3/4th a year at this point) is, will jeopardizing the future of this ballclub put us in a position to win the world series this year? I don't think the addition of Lofton puts us in that position higher enough then not having Lofton to pull the trade. Plus Texas would have to eat, like, all but 1m of his salary, really raising his price tag.
  9. Hate all you want, but he got on base twice tonight The first time was because Lilly did a bad job on defense and didn't run to the bag. The second time, he was likely hit on purpose because the Marlins were running up the score. He has a .286 OBP in the lead off spot this year, including tonight's game.
  10. I'd rather know what our standing in mode runs scored is, rather then total or average per game. Totals and averages doesn't mean much.
  11. What's up with Choi now??? How old is he? Choi this year is in the Rays minor league system, and he has a contract for one million. Last I read not that long ago, he went MIA and there was no documentain where he went. Wasn't on any Ray's affiliate roster. Him being back in Korea makes sense though.
  12. whoa, just got home... what happened to serg? He pulled up while running to first. Looked like a hamstring to me. People also talked about getting hit in the face, did a errant throw bean him in the head or something? And what did it look like happened to Boone? Obviously he's good enough to play, but wondering what the scare was. Bad time to take my dogs for a walk, missed the play
  13. Sign Rashard Lewis with LIES, send him, Jameer Nelson, Trevor Ariza, and a conditional 1st round pick. Re-sign Grant Hill to veteran's minimum. Dwight Howard, Darko Millic, Grant Hill, Kobe Bryant, and Arroyo/Diener/some cheap FA as starting PG, as the starting 5. and one weak bench, and potentially not having a 1st round pick two years in a row. PENNY AND SHAQ VERSION 2.0

    Yooooouuuuukkkkk

There is no way he is writing most of that. I'm sure he has input, but a lot of that is just MLB. When every player's "blog" is long, well thought out, perfect in grammar and filled with pictures and links from MLB's site, you know something is up.
  15. You guys are acting like Tank didn't have a control problem last year. He had a 7.8 BB/9 against rh last year (Nearly 1 walk per inn), and a 1.66 WHIP (Compared to his 1.10 against LHP). He's still great against LH this year (0.84 WHIP), but struggling against RH again. I think he was very overrated last year, he only worked 41 innings. I think he could deffinatly benefit time from the minors, not just for his recent mishaps (Which are being overstated, he's been bad his last couple outings but was doing well when he first came off the DL. You take out the bulls*** outing in Washington, when he warmed up, went through a rain delay, and then had to warm up/pitch after that in bad conditions, his numbers go down well) but looking at everything as a whole. But if he gets sent down, our only LHP is...Pinto. Who recently has had a lot more problems then Tankersley.
  16. It's speculation from a fantasy website. I'm not saying he won't get sent down. But I'm not exactly putting my faith in it. Expecially considering 1) he's left handed 2) Lee Gardner
  17. Is Gregg up for arbitration again after this year, or is he a FA? EDIT: Isn't Owens still technically the closer? Or is he getting Mota'd? Fredi said Gregg keeps the job when Owens gets back.
  18. Does anyone else's sound feed keep cutting out? mine's been fine
  19. Treaner is catching because Kim is pitching, not to give Olivo an off-day. Him getting an off-day is a plus though.

    Hanley

It's not just RISP, he isn't good when any runners are on. He's amazing with the bases open though, with Cabs as protections. I think him at the 2 hole with cabs batting third would be interesting, but that still leaves the need for a leadoff hitter.
  21. Has there been any update since Sanchez was diagnosed other then "His shoulder hurts"? Timetable? Can we expect him back this year?
  22. Lets make this the official "cliche" thread. I'll start: You've gotta take it one game at a time. We have to start bringing our "A game" You know, I don't think I've ever seen a team with a manager who said "one game at a time" get into the playoffs. They usually end up 5-6 wins out of the last playoff spot. Every game is important and they add up at the end of the season. But you have to have heart.
  23. (injuries is a lame excuse since it doesn't explain Willis or Olsen for that matter) I don't understand why people are still hating on Willis and Olsen. Willis has three strait quality starts, and his .baa against in May is .080 points lower then April. He had a rough 5 game slide, all pitchers have rough times in the season. The Marlins are still 8-3 in games Willis has started regardless. Olsen's May numbers: 3.65 ERA, 1.30 WHIP. He has 5 quality starts in his past 6 games. It's not April anymore.
  24. If Willy was around, they could start him at second (His last couple years at AAA were good, and he's done well in the majors so far), move Kelly back to CF, and have an easier time trading Jones for a starting pitcher/first baseman.
  25. You can't fault him for one start, he had been decent in every appearence before this. He's facing the best offense in the NL and had an off-night. He's currently our #5 guy with 3 starters injured...you shouldn't expect something amazing out of him. None of our pitchers in AA are ready to start now. The only starting pitcher even doing remotely well in AAA is Paul Mildren (4.36 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, .226 BAA) who has almost as many walks as he does strikeouts. The only other pitcher you could start in our bullpen, is our closer.
