  1. Looks like Braman's getting strapped to that seat in the middle of the 836 after all. :mischief
  2. Both teams are now 7-4. Yahoo! lost, ESPN won again.
  3. The first big trailer is here. http://www.startrekmovie.com (or download it for free on iTunes) What you'll see... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Young Kirk trashing a vintage convertible. The construction of the Enterprise...on Earth. Kirk being a peeping tom. Kirk doing it with Uhura. Spock beating Kirk up. Old Spock (Leonard Nimoy) Several major battle scenes. All in all, it's looking freakin' sweet.
  4. I like how Orlando Rays always has to change his thread titles in the Bull Pen, but this one is just perfectly fine. I don't change my thread titles. Any thread title changes made to my threads have been made by, or at the behest of, the moderators. That being said, I like how this one completely and utterly mischaracterizes the situation. The United States and Iraq have been working together on this agreement for about half a year, and signed it despite Obama trying to pressure Iraq into delaying it. :mischief
  5. This is actually an agreement between the United States and Iraq, not a mere Iraqi parliamentary resolution. It's also the same agreement Obama tried to delay when he made his whirlwind tour of the world during the campaign. This is a victory.
  6. Powered up by sweet potato pie? :mischief
  7. http://www.nypost.com/seven/11182008/gossi...rner_139199.htm METS hottie David Wright is a charitable guy, but at his annual fund-raiser the other night, he was the one in need of some help. A spy at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square for his "Do the Wright Thing" event watched in shock as Wright was "mobbed by a swarm of trashy-looking cougars. Middle-age women with bad '80s hair were practically pushing down little kids who were trying to get baseballs signed." Wright was overheard pleading, "Ladies, calm down! Please, relax." Sorry, I found this hilarious. Apparently he attracts MILFs. :mischief
  8. My Yahoo! team is now up to 7-3. We scored the most points in our league in week 10, with 116. My ESPN team continued its winning streak, and is now 6-4.
  9. It's official: Rahm Emanuel will be Chief of Staff. Also, John Kerry is politicking for Secretary of State.
  10. "socially conservative" (socialist) :lolup
  11. The Republican party is on its death bed. People said that about the Democratic Party after 2002 and 2004. :mischief
  12. Either way, we're all screwed. BTW: I voted Bob Barr.
  13. My Yahoo team lost again two weeks ago, but won last week. They're 6-3, 1/2 game out of first (the leader tied last week, now 6-2-1). My ESPN team's winning streak continues, now at 5-4.
  14. MTV has music again...sorta. http://www.mtvmusic.com
  15. Sorry we couldn't get it done for you guys. Did anybody else hear the sirens start immediately when Lidge got the final out? :mischief
  16. I have never bet on baseball, but anyone who laid down anything substantial in Vegas on the Rays to take it all is going to make out like a bandit. 150 to 1 odds? Some bookies will be going to the soup kitchen when this is over. For every $ bet on TB, I'm sure there was 1000$ on the NYY. Or Boston. :mischief
  17. did i just see the backstreet boys performing the anthem? wait, what the hell? did i just see the rays in the world series? where am i? what's happening? Don't feel so glum about it. You guys still have more World Series titles than Philly. :mischief
  18. I don't know if they do this elsewhere, but... In Orange County, make sure you bring your sample ballot with you. It has barcodes on it that will give you expedited check-in. Just have it and your ID out, they'll scan the sample ballot, and your ballots will be sent right to the printer. So much nicer.
  19. Obviously pulling the The Rays here. Should be a good series (7 games!). Merc. :mischief I'd talk more often, but I'm splitting my time between RaysBB, DRaysBay, and blogging duties at the new blog, Rise of the Rays. Obviously, Go Rays! I say six games, and that's more because I want an on-field celebration. I see 5 as realistic, with Hamels figuring something out. If the Phils are that stupid, we'd hit Jamie Moyer worse than Tim Wakefield. Couldn't Marlin fans just use the argument that it took the Phillies 125 years to win two World Series titles, while it only took the Marlins 11 years? The argument that they have more titles than the Phillies would be nicer. :mischief
  20. The Yahoo team lost (5-2), mainly because half my good players and both my defenses had bye weeks. This week is the big showdown. My ESPN team won again, and is now 3-4.
  21. Sorry I'm late. Stayed up all night Sunday night. :mischief USC finagled its way into the Top 5 in the first BCS poll. 22. I'll come down when the Dynamo are in town. :mischief
  23. Why is everyone persisting in last week's thread?
  24. My main team on Yahoo is now 5-1. This girl that shares the top record with me is talking smack hard on me. I think she's flirting. :mischief I'm trying to trade Aaron Rodgers to get Frank Gore. Three of my headline players are on bye weeks this week. My ESPN team is up to 2-4. I think I'm poised for a rally, but what do I know?
  25. Cal Ripken ain't got nothing on Mr. Marlin. :mischief
