Sports announcer
I've been moonlighting as a PA announcer for a little bit at the high school I work at. Last night was the home opener of Boys Lacrosse. The school's AD happened to be there. He was so impressed with my performance that he immediately offered me JV and Freshman Football next fall, and maybe Varsity Football if our current announcer, who's done it since the school opened, retires. Our AD is the PA announcer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium, John Magrino.

What is it?
Escaped mental patient performing Hamlet. I was thinking Romeo + Juliet (the Baz Luhrmann version).

Friend going to the coast guard.
Coast Guard is freaking awesome. The first SPL of my boy scout troop went in. Civic duty for those that aren't keen on going to war. Save drowning people from sinking boats and fight smugglers in speedboats.

National Signing Day
We had a signing day ceremony at the school I work at today. Six football players have received scholarships, including one each to Ole Miss, Georgia Tech and Memphis.

MLS Miami
I'll be honest with you... I won't support any MLS crap until the Marlins get their stadium... BOTTOM LINE! I do give you big ups though for supporting something you have a passion for. Marlins fans have been trying to get a baseball only stadium for years now! Well, the MLS stadium is an optional add-on to the Marlins stadium.

Official Wrestling Discussion
I have an idea... 1) Jeff Hardy wins MITB. 2) Randy Orton wins a triple-threat with Triple H and John Cena. 3) Jeff Hardy cashes in the MITB and beats Randy Orton.

Early Voting
well I waited 'til yesterday but there was no line whatsoever at my voting location. Same here. I think most people did the early voting. Though the guy who ran the touchscreen was out, so I was forced to use the paper ballot. The property tax cut passed. Suck.

Clemens' agents employ Chewbacca defense
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3218315 Roger Clemens' agents just released an 18,000-word report with statistical "proof" that his rebound was not because of steroids and HGH. If this was the "investigation" he was launching, then he's even dumber than I thought he was. Even from the article I can tell it's a classic Chewbacca defense. :mischief

Help with Ballads
I have been doing a project with ballads and we need to pick like 6 different ballads and I have 1 left and not sure what to choose. Does anyone know if "Time of your life" - green day is a ballad? because I don't know the rhyme scheme and guessing the refrain is just "I hope you had the time of your life". help would be must appreciated "Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)" is gentle enough in tone that I think it makes up for the abnormally fast tempo.

Ugh, These WBC people. What a freaking joke. Anyway, I guess they're not having his funeral in his native land? They should, and if the WBC shows up, someone should go Crocodile Dundee on them. God Hates Australia? :mischief

WBC protesting at Heath Ledger's funeral
I have a friend that lives in Plattsburgh, New York, that has an eyewitness account of the Westboro Baptist Church... and a plan on how to really deal with them. The issue is that when we fight back somehow that isn't quite legal, i.e. what they do, they sue for harassment and get the money back. its their tactic. they came to our area up here and protested our openly gay (republican) mayor during Mayor's Cup (Basically a week long event celebrating our area and its history.) If we had denied them, they would have sued. If we had attacked them, they would have sued. If we sneezed in their general direction, they would have sued. I hope you see the picture. So what did we do that pissed them off more than anything? We welcomed them, gave them their protesting booth, even offered them a discount at our local motel due to the high volume of followers that booked there, and started a Stop Hate campaign. We distributed stickers everywhere, did nothing to oppose them and basically showed that we were far better than them. It was amusing that in the entire area, there was ONE supporter, and he moved shortly after learning that his name was printed in the local paper as the ONLY supporter. they left early after learning that they couldn't get us to attack or do something they could sue us for. its basically a scam in the name of God. they give lawyers, religion, and America a bad name. they do it as their sole source of income. they go out, piss people off, eventually someone can't take it and fights back, then they sue for damages in a court that eats out of their hand. If it were possible to sue them into oblivion, i think we would have done so already. the problem is that they make DAMN sure that everyone knows that what they are doing is an act of "Free Speech" so if we do anything to stop them, try to play the "We have free speech too", or point out one of the conditions of "free speech" is that it isn't slanderous or Libel they throw a sh*t fit and sue. http://www.plattsburghforpeace.com/ What if we all decided, starting right now ... that the color of our skins' didn't matter? or religion? or nationality? or ideology? or sexual orientation? What if we stopped being afraid? Think about it for a minute ... maybe it wouldn't be that hard to live in peace? Maybe it's just that simple.

I was going to post a news link, but I found this in a friend's blog. It says it all. Doesn't God teach not to assume His wrath, either?

Super Bowl XLII Discussion
53.5 That seems really high. I can see a 40.5 or even a 45.5 but 53.5 I have a feeling it will be a low scoring game... No way. It's in a retractable roof in a relatively mild clime. And with the 73-point total last time, 53.5 doesn't seem too unreasonable.
