  1. USF lost to Cincy. Again. All the "signature I-A wins" in the world won't matter if you don't make it out of your conference. :mischief
  2. Also, their were reports on FoxSoccerChannel that the accident was career-ending. I was really liking the Altidore/Donovan/Davies attack. Concern about his career is mere speculation at this time, but he is almost certainly out of the World Cup. The recovery time is expected to be 6-12 months. He's only 23. I think he'll play again.
  3. Boise State's stay outside the pool didn't last long. but USC and Ohio State--the perennial BCS chokers--are nipping at their heels. They also decided to add Notre Dame to the Top 25 party. 1) Florida (50), 5-0, 1490 2) Alabama (10), 6-0, 1430 3) Texas, 5-0, 1395 4) Virginia Tech, 5-1, 1283 5) Boise State, 5-0, 1199 6) USC, 4-1, 1161 7) Ohio State, 5-1, 1048 8) Cincinnati, 5-0, 1038 9) Miami, 4-1, 970 10) LSU, 5-1, 947 11) Iowa, 6-0, 919 12) TCU, 5-0, 917 13) Oregon, 5-1, 776 14) Penn State, 5-1, 597 15) Nebraska, 4-1, 576 16) Oklahoma State, 4-1, 559 17) Kansas, 5-0, 551 18) Brigham Young, 5-1, 490 19) Georgia Tech, 5-1, 453 20) Oklahoma, 3-2, 432 21) USF, 5-0, 330 22) South Carolina, 5-1, 319 23) Houston, 4-1, 192 24) Utah, 4-1, 76 25) Notre Dame, 4-1, 75 Dropping: Auburn 17, Mississippi 20, Missouri 24 Results for the Florida schools: #1 Florida (4-0) beat #4 LSU (5-0), 13-3 #11 Miami (4-1) beat Florida A&M (4-1), 48-16 #23 USF (5-0) was idle UCF (3-2) was idle FSU (2-4) lost to #22 Georgia Tech (5-1), 49-44 FIU (1-4) beat Western Kentucky (0-5), 37-20 FAU (0-4) was idle Week 6 Schedule for Florida schools #1 Florida (5-0) vs. Arkansas (3-2), Saturday, October 17 @ 3:30pm #9 Miami (4-1) @ UCF (3-2), Saturday, October 17 @ 7:30pm #21 USF (5-0) vs. #8 Cincinnati (5-0), Thursday, October 15 @ 7:30pm FSU (2-4) is idle (and if they're smart, they'll fire Bobby Bowden :mischief) FIU (1-4) vs. Troy (3-2), Saturday, October 17 @ 7:00pm FAU (0-4) @ North Texas (1-4), Saturday, October 17 @ 7:00pm
  4. The absolute best is super-high prices for a 2011 postseason opening. More likely is opening in time for participation in the 2012 WBC, perhaps for the finals. If I'm not mistaken, the next WBC will be in 2013 and Miami is definately being considered to host a Semifinal or Final round in the new stadium. Okay, I see that now. They decided to go every four years instead of three from this point on.
  5. I had a feeling Fredi was in no danger.
  6. Brent Musburger isn't exactly a young buck. He may just be getting senile. :mischief
  7. Having the 2014 World Cup immensely helped Rio. Without that, I have a feeling Chicago gets it. But the logic is they must be ready for the World Cup to be ready for the Olympics. And as passionate as Brazil is for football, they wouldn't dare let down FIFA.
  8. Texas is too low. It looks like it's on San Antonio. It should be about 1/3 between where it is now and TCU's icon. Sorry, feel nitpicky.
  9. Boise State didn't even lose, but they get bumped out of the Top 5 by a one-loss team. We would expect nothing more from the biased sportswriters. In the meantime, South Florida is trying to prove they can be a lasting power in the post-Grothe era. 10. Someone on the website I usually argue politics on actually had the nerve to say that the women deserve what they get for doing this, and they shouldn't have exacted this revenge. Sorry. You know what they say about a woman scorned. He scorned (at least) three women. This is his just desserts, and he'd have to have the trial moved to Iran to get a conviction on them. :mischief
  11. Tell us where it says the government will pay for their healthcare.
  12. The absolute best is super-high prices for a 2011 postseason opening. More likely is opening in time for participation in the 2012 WBC, perhaps for the finals. :mischief
  13. The Top 25 got butchered. Are the Gators dead men walking with Tim Tebow going from Reborn Jesus to Mush-for-Brains? The surprising part is that South Florida did not make the AP Poll. 1) Florida (55), 4-0, 1490 2) Texas (1), 4-0, 1420 3) Alabama (4), 4-0, 1400 4) LSU 4-0, 1225 5) Boise State, 4-0, 1203 6) Virginia Tech, 3-1, 1190 7) USC, 3-1, 998 8) Oklahoma, 2-1, 979 9) Ohio State, 3-1, 957 10) Cincinnati, 4-0, 946 11) TCU, 3-0, 896 12) Houston, 3-0, 844 13) Iowa, 4-0, 788 14) Oklahoma State, 3-1, 591 15) Penn State, 3-1, 470 16) Oregon, 3-1, 462 17) Miami, 2-1, 452 18) Kansas, 4-0, 418 18) Georgia, 3-1, 418 20) Brigham Young, 3-1, 349 21) Mississippi, 2-1, 340 22) Michigan, 4-0, 271 23) Nebraska, 3-1, 256 24) California, 3-1, 206 25) Georgia Tech, 3-1, 185 Dropping: Florida State 18 (again :mischief), North Carolina 22 Results for the Florida schools: #1 Florida (4-0) beat Kentucky (2-1), 41-7 #9 Miami (2-1) lost to #11 Virginia Tech (3-1), 31-7 #18 FSU (2-2) lost to USF (4-0), 17-7 UCF (2-2) lost to East Carolina (2-2), 19-14 FIU (0-3) lost to Toledo (2-2), 41-31 FAU (0-3) lost to Louisiana-Monroe (2-2), 27-25 Week 5 Schedule for Florida schools #1 Florida (4-0) is idle #17 Miami (2-1) vs. #8 Oklahoma (2-1), Saturday, October 3 @ 8:00pm USF (4-0) vs. Syracuse (2-2), Saturday, October 3 @ 12:00pm FSU (2-2) @ Boston College (3-1), Saturday, October 3 @ 3:30pm UCF (2-2) vs. Memphis (1-3), Saturday, October 3 @ 3:30pm FIU (0-3) @ Louisiana-Monroe (2-2), Saturday, October 3 @ 3:37pm FAU (0-3) vs. Wyoming (2-2), Saturday, October 3 @ 4:00pm
  14. I knew from the beginning that Ole Miss was overrated. :mischief
  15. This line makes me mad, because it (seems to) reek of ignorance. You have to keep in mind, the person writing the line is a UCF fan. :mischief

  17. The excitement is undoubtedly building. :mischief
  18. Yes, but there's nothing neutral or dark about that bright ass royal blue they have in the renderings. That blue reminds me of looking into Tropicana Field when the Rays were the Devil Rays. It reminds me of looking into Tropicana Field when the Rays were the Rays. :mischief It's the same blue used today.

  20. Looks like a spider to me. What a hilarious coincidence. The bane of the outdoor camera: animals. Kinda like the squirrel that got in the way of a tourist picture in Canada.
  21. That sound you hear is Oklahoma's title hopes going down the drain. :mischief 1) Florida (56), 1-0, 1493 2) Texas (2), 1-0, 1424 3) USC, 1-0, 1355 4) Alabama (2), 1-0, 1331 5) Oklahoma State, 1-0, 1201 6) Mississippi, 1-0, 1095 7) Penn State, 1-0, 1082 8) Ohio State, 1-0, 985 9) Brigham Young, 1-0, 984 10) California, 1-0, 971 11) LSU, 1-0, 890 12) Boise State, 1-0, 882 13) Oklahoma, 0-1, 782 14) Virginia Tech, 0-1, 652 15) Georgia Tech, 1-0, 630 16) TCU, 0-0, 523 17) Utah, 1-0, 404 18) Notre Dame, 1-0, 383 19) North Carolina, 1-0, 338 20) Miami, 1-0, 315 21) Georgia, 0-1, 294 22) Nebraska, 1-0, 266 23) Cincinnati, 1-0, 248 24) Kansas, 1-0, 196 25) Missouri, 1-0, 126 Dropping: Oregon 16, FSU 18 ( :mischief ) and Iowa 22 Results for the Florida schools: #1 Florida beat Charleston Southern, 62-3 Miami beat #18 FSU, 38-34 USF best Wofford, 40-7 UCF beat Samford, 28-24 FAU lost to #24 Nebraska, 49-3 FIU was idle Week 2 schedule for Florida schools: #1 Florida (1-0) v. 22. I doubt they will set a name this year. The Twins signed a naming deal for Target Field until the end of the 2008 season. That would be in-line to Sept. 2010 for "Miami Ballpark".
  23. The outfield seating is going to be freaking spectacular.
  24. Miami Marlins - 1956 @ The OB Vs. Columbus Jets Talk about crunk. That's closer than the first coming of the L.A. Coliseum, which was 253 ft. in LF. Because of renovations since 1958, in 2008 it was only like 183 ft. when they did the exhibition game. Sure made things easy for Manny. And the new Marlins Ballpark will have one of the deeper overall outfields at sea level in the entire sports. I think they ought to revisit that. It's proven quite the blunder at Citi Field.
  25. They will most certainly, win or fail, sell out the first several home series. A new ballpark always attracts people in droves. See: Nationals Park. Their attendance is down over 8,000/game over last season, because they suck. :mischief If the team is good in 2011, and stays good in 2012, they definitely have a chance to draw near-sellout crowds all year in 2012. I doubt they will sell out the entire season, but they ought to be close if they're good.
