  1. Some of you just mention payroll like if the team is mediocre just because of payroll. This team didn't perform above expectations. If anything, they performed to expectations. For every overachiever on the team this year, I can give you an underachiever, as well. He didn't do anything spectacularly this year. My answer to this question is "who cares?" If they want to fire his ass...fire his ass. He'll be out of here anyways, once Bobby Cox is done in Atlanta. It really does not matter, so long as we put a competitive team out on the field (which the Marlins are, right now). But is another year of Fredi and then a new manager better than letting him go now? Does it hurt the team to hold on for a year if they think he will just leave or is it better to get another coach in place now (if the inevitable is true)?
  2. Very cool video, thanks for posting. I think it gives a few views and shows a few features that are unique to the still photo renderings.
  3. i already deleted all the helmets so it will get changed next week I am sure its not the only one out of place. I tried to place them as close as possible (without spending too much time)
  4. fun little map of AP top 25 teams I made (sorry for helmets not all being the same size). It is interesting to see on map where most of these schools are located.
  5. He has done a great job and if they let him go he will end up in Atlanta and we will have to see him too often and realize it was a bad move.
  6. They mentioned it on the telecast of the Marlins game today. Tommy was making fun of him. Is there any youtube video of that? posted by FAUowls earlier in the thread
  7. FIU will get their first win on the season.
  8. congrats to Hanley. Now lets fix those fielding problems
  9. IF anything I think it is good sportsmanship. It makes the game fun. It's the little thing (records) that makes baseball so unique.
  10. I actually think if Detroit makes it they have a good chance to beat NY. Minnesota on the other hand not really. ps. its just Sox,and the singular is sock.
  11. I think Washington might be his only spot besides the Marlins; if they are hearing Cleveland, Washington and Florida. I think John Farrel will end up in Cleveland.
  12. I had to rewind and make sure he said overpass and then I did and said maybe he using the wrong word, but I do not think that was the case.
  13. Game was also on versus, but it was a bad game all around. They started off really sloppy in the first. Then were holding close through the second and at the end of the second gave up a stupid goal and it really ended it. Today? No it wasn't... It was on versus but was covered as a Comcast Sports broadcast (or so I suppose because the score thing was CCS).

  20. I remember somewhere last winter that just passed we had someone bitching every day about global warming and he couldn't find real articles. So I read this and thought of that immediately. See even rising seas are not a problem anymore! Global warming conjures images of rising seas that threaten coastal areas. But in Juneau, as almost nowhere else in the world, climate change is having the opposite effect: As the glaciers here melt, the land is rising, causing the sea to retreat. Morgan DeBoer opened a nine-hole golf course, above, at the mouth of Glacier Bay in 1998 on land that did not exist when his family settled in the area 50 years ago. ?The highest tides of the year would come into what is now my driving range area,? Mr. DeBoer said. Now, with the high-tide line receding even farther, he is contemplating adding another nine holes. ?It just keeps rising,? he said. The geology is complex, but it boils down to this: Relieved of billions of tons of glacial weight, the land has risen much as a cushion regains its shape after someone gets up from a couch. The land is ascending so fast that the rising seas ? a ubiquitous byproduct of global warming ? cannot keep pace. As a result, the relative sea level is falling, at a rate ?among the highest ever recorded,? according to a 2007 report by a panel of experts convened by Mayor Bruce Botelho of Juneau. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/18/science/earth/18juneau.html?_r=1&hp
