No Marlins baseball. And its a work night. Maybe I'll just have to watch all the shows I DVRed because I was watching the games. Go Fish. That's what I'm doing.

I looked in yesterday's game thread and didn't see this posted, so I apologize if this has been mentioned already.... This was only the second 3 game, opening-series sweep in franchise history. The last time they did this? 1997. Granted, it was against the Nationals and we'll see how they fare against a real team like the Mets this weekend. However, I'm one who believes in the devine design, the mathematical order behind the complex systems in our world. Perhaps here is something behind this 6 year deal. This year's team just seems...different. Confident, like they know they should be playing at a high level. Whatever happens, I think this year's definitely going to be fun. I'm with ya, sometimes it just FEELS different.

I'm def. with everyone here, I try to schedule stuff around games, I make sure if I am at a friends house they have the game on, I make restauants/bars put it on the TVs if I am there, etc etc. If I absolutely cannot be at a TV or computer for a game, I am on my phone looking at the score update as much as possible, and I will DVR them and check out the good stuff I missed. And I go to games too...duh :lol

IMO the location is sh*t for Marlin Stadium they're going to average less fans then they do now its in the middle of the ghetto and to far for anyone to drive to If Loria had half a brain he would have put the stadium next to the hockey arena in sunrise and created a whole sports complex with shared parking and it would be more centrally located and it would create more revenue for the sawgrass mills mall but the people behind the deal are F ing idiots STFU troll.

Because of the alliteration, The Miami Marlins sounds like a Saturday morning kids cartoon show, i.e. Scooby-Doo, The Hair-Bear Bunch, Grape Ape; Try saying the New York Nankees, or the Boston Bed Sox. Plus, let's look at the history of teams with the same first letter in Team and Nicknames: Chicago Cubs (last won WS when Babe Ruth was a sperm) Pittsburgh Pirates (never contenders) Philapdelphia Phillies (er . . . :blink: ) Miami Marlins just sounds gay to me. You think Miami Marlins sounds "gay" but you have no problem with a team named after an article of clothing that's purpose is purely to absorb foot sweat?

I 100% echo what most in here have said, I'm def. not thrilled about the name change at all, but at this point it doesn't matter because no matter what we are going to be, we are going to be HERE. That is the most important thing to me. Also, as Rab said, most of the time I just call them the Marlins, I don't use the full name often. The thing is, I live in WPB, not Miami, so in a weird way I felt like them being the Florida Marlins made them a little bit more "my" team instead of just Miami's team. The Heat and the Dolphins are both Miami, so the Marlins were the only ones that really represented all of Florida for me. Plus I never really liked the way the M looked on the logo, I loved the F, but we will see how the new logos look, who knows, it may be sweet.
