Marlins.com Gets A New Look
As much as I find myself frustrated with Joe Frisaro sometimes, I hope we see less of Alden Gonzalez' byline as the season rolls on. Overall I think all the MLB websites have been upgraded this off-season including the Marlins. I can't stand the MLB websites. I think they are so boring and have very little individuality. I feel the exact opposite. I hate the fact that every NFL site is different. With the MLB sites, I can always go to any team's site and find everything quickly. Not to mention that most NFL sites look like they were designed by high schoolers, as opposed to the MLB sites that look professional. I'm gonna have to go with Rab on this one, I like the MLB sites way more than the NFL sites as well.

Game on FSN today at noon
Marlins vs Phillies game is on sunsport now. Miller vs Hamels Is this game the one where Uggla hits a walk-off grand slam? OMG I hope it is, I got home after that game was over and only got to see the replays. And might I add, it feels sooooo good to watch Marlins baseball again. I feel all warm and fuzzy.

A little fun fact about the marlins last year
? IN THE STARS DEPT.: While we're on the subject, poor Dan Uggla committed more errors on back-to-back pitches in the All Star Game (two) than he'd committed in the previous 2? months (one). Then again, it was that kind of night. Uggla crammed three errors, three strikeouts and a double-play groundout into FIVE INNINGS of the All Star Game -- a combination unmatched by any player in history in any regular-season, postseason or All-Star Game ever played. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stor...mp;lid=tab4pos1 You know what annoyed me most about this? I mean aside from just the fact that all of that happened and it was embarassing for Dan and all, but the fact that so many ignorant fools blamed him for the NL losing the game when none of his errors resulted in any runs being scored.

So I got my annual Marlins wall calendar...
January: Rebelo Febuary: Gregg (thank god he's on the shortest month) March: Gonzo April: Olsen May: Jacobs June: Amezaga July: A. Miller August: Uggla September: HanRam October: Hendrickson November: Willingham December: Hermida Yeah... So 5/12 will be on the opening day roster - what awesome choices lol Dont sports calendars normally have the manager on one month also? Maybe some, but I get this one every year and I can't remember having a manager on recently.

A little fun fact about the marlins last year
I believe one of those games was against the Rockies on July 4. :glare :glare :glare :glare :glare On May 21, the Marlins beat a pitcher whose record for the year was 8-0 (Brandon Webb). Exactly two days later, they managed to LOSE to a pitcher who was 0-8 (Barry Zito). This was funny, I had a good laugh about that one when it happened.

Not all that happy with the player selection. Either they put this thing together in like the first week of the season, or whoever did it just picked the first 12 names they saw. No Ricky, No JJ, No Cantu, and Rabelo is January.

The Dolphins...
Yeah, good thing JT wanted to go to a team that would get to the play-offs :lol Anyone going to the game this Sunday? I'll be there!

Marlins and Josh Johnson avoid arbitration
JJ, my favorite pitcher on the staff right now. I love JJ, but my favorite is Nolasco. I fell in love during that game against the Diamondbacks where we stopped Webb's winning streak. Nolasco's curveball was just insane. I did too! He impressed the hell out of me during that game.

Samson talked about in PTI
Ehhh, even though I agree with what he said, I knew as soon as I heard it that he was going to be ripped for it because of the Marlins financial dealings.

Matt Treanor Released

Hanley's new crib
Florida Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez bought a seven-bedroom, 8.5-bath home at 2903 Lake Ridge Lane in Weston from Eric Friedman and Susan Friedman for $3.95 million on Nov. 12. Eric Friedman paid $4,290,368 for the property on Jan. 8. The 9,300-square-foot house was built in 2000. Ramirez, 24, has started at shortstop for the Marlins for the past three seasons, establishing himself as one of the best young players in baseball. Named the National League Rookie of the Year in 2006 and an N.L. All-Star in 2008, he's a career .308 hitter in his time with the Marlins and two games with the Boston Red Sox in 2005. He led all rookies in baseball with 185 hits, 119 runs, 11 triples and 51 stolen bases in 2006. Following the 2007 season, Ramirez signed a six-year, $70 million contract extension, the richest contract in Marlins history. He is originally from the Dominican Republic. There have been 895 sales in Weston in 2008, with a median price of $351,000. http://southflorida.blockshopper.com/news/story/205471 Listing: http://www.realestate.com/Property/1128461...2-M1204885.aspx Must be nice to have money to burn!!! I wonder why he needs 7 bedrooms, lol! I may be wrong, but I thought I remember hearing on his Inside the Marlins episode that he moved his parents here from the DR, so maybe for them?

http://hotstove.mlblogs.com/archives/2008/...rtnerId=rss_fla Uggggggh.............if they trade Jeremy to the Phillies, I may quite literally throw up. There's a bag in the seat back in front of you. Good, I may need one too...
