Other than the Fernandez starts I don't know why you would watch this. We had a historically bad offense last year. There were a few choice times we broke out and did some scoring. I wish the start against Halladay in Philly was one of the encores. I think we scored like 14 runs that day, including a Hech grand slam?

Didn't they used to do 10 encore games each preseason? I know 2013 was awful, but that sucks.

that would be a really good trade for the marlins. plus players at shortstop and center field. marisnick sucks. cishek is solid but a shortstop and centerfielder are way more valuable than a reliever. only real gamble is nicolino, and nobody rates him as an A+ prospect anyway. but it won't happen. Yes, Marisnick sucks. He was rushed to the big leagues way too damn early, didn't see consistent playing time, is 22 years old and still considered one of the team's best prospects. He definitely sucks.

This concept that circulates around the streets of Miami that: A) Stanton played subpar last year because hes upset and doesn't want to be with the team and B) Stanton would never sign with the Marlins long term In my opinion those sentiments are bull. He's still under club control and has not had his big payday yet. If we offered him something like 7/100 he would be foregoing at least an additional 6-9 million a year depending what happens in arbitration. No one refuses that kind of money. I think most of us are in agreement that if he gets a fair long-term deal that he's going to sign. He just can't be that stupid. Dan Uggla rejected a fair long-term deal. He may not be bad, but he is not good, either. He is mediocre/average. And his mediocre/average defense isn't enough to make up for how awful a hitter he is. Is he...dare I say...replacement level?
