canada-marlin24
Apparently Royals are willing to listen and he is under contract for 20 million over next two years. If they were willing to get into Abreu dealing they better get in on this one.
Michael
Hmm ... LoMo and company for Butler? Morrison would get to go play for his favorite team, we'd get a half decent hitter ... I like it. Can it be done, though ...
Entendu
But it's 2 years. Unless we extend him, I don't think it's really worth shelling out LoMo AND someone else of value.
Admin
Plus he's better as a DH probably anyway

Admin
The only happy person with this deal would be LoMo since he is from KC
Erick
He's a DH.
Michael
He's a DH. So logically we'd put him in left. No big deal. Yelich will catch.
mrchainsaw
He's a DH. So logically we'd put him in left. No big deal. Yelich will catch. And Mathis will play CF. Gotta get that bat in the lineup any way we can.

Admin
As long as Chris Coghlan plays third and hits lead-off, the Marlins should be fine.
Hanley2Ramirez
Billy butler can absolutely smash. Id take him in our lineup even with his bad defense at 1st

Did I miss a MB.com Chris Coghlan roast/memification? Yes, during the season I suggested that when Chris Coghlan returned that with him in the leadoff spot it could shift other batters into their more natural spots in the order (Yelich 3rd, Stanton clean-up, etc). I still maintain that it makes plenty of sense considering without those two specifically in those spots of the order this team really lacks anybody that can drive in runs consistently in the heart of the order. What about the fact that Coghlan is absolutely terrible at baseball? Irrelevant. He put the rest of the lineup in a better place to score runs. This is the same kind of baseball analytics that says opposing pitchers pitch around others hitters to get to Stanton because he strikes out.
