Yep, that's why it sucks. Then again earlier this season Jack used Armando in a tie game situation and people here complained that he should've saved him for later extra innings (as if those are guaranteed)... so Jack can't win. He was right then, wrong tonight.

Exactly what i was going to say. If he doesn't put in Seanez in the 7th (which was the case today) then people ask "why didn't they put him in"...and if he puts him in and he f***s up the game people start asking "why did they put him in when we had Mota". Jack just can't win.....

I find it amazing how people can still say that Bonds is all the Giants have... Did Pedro Feliz not tie the game with a two run shot in the 8th? Did Deivi Cruz not hit a solo homerun earlier?

 

I'm not rooting for either team here, so don't think I'm just defending the Giants... I just find it incredible how people can say that the Giants don't have anything other than Bonds... They're not 12 games over .500 cause of Barry Bonds alone.

Actually, I kinda feel sorry for Barry Bonds, too. He gets booed just by walking out to bat. And he gets walked after that. He doesn't even get a chance to do anything. I mean, it's like he's all dressed up with no place to go, ya know?

Benitez should have been warmed up and ready once two men were on, Period. Jack probably hoped to get another inning out of Seanez, pinch hit for him in the bottom of the 10th and have Armando start the 11th, but in a game like this you have to get out of that jam with Armando, and either let him bat and pitch an extra inning or bring in Koch(who has been improving his consistency, i just think Jack doesn't trust him)

Bad outing by Mota.

 

I can understand Seanez not be able to throw a strike after the intentional walk, but I think after being one of most abused relievers the past two years Mota may finally be wearing down.

I don't think that's the case...he just made a mistake. He was throwing 96-98 MPH tonight, but made a predictable pitch to Feliz and got way too much of the plate for an 0-2 pitch. Unfortunatley for us, Feliz crushed his mistake.

I was there tonight and this loss was brutal, there was a lot of energy in the crowd up until Mota blew the game, after he gave up that 2 run blast to tie the game all the energy was sucked out of the crowd and the players.

 

People talk about Mota being our closer of the future, it's games like this which make you second guess that. As far as Rudy walking home the winning run, that is inexcusable, I don't care who they are. Also this is a PERFECT example of why you do NOT walk Barry Bonds to load the bases or move runners into scoring position, UGHHH. We've walked Bonds more than any other team that has played the Giants the same amount of times thus far and it's stupid.

I sat near the pen last night.

 

Perisho was warming up when Rudy walked Bonds. He was throwing hard & looked ready. I don't believe Mando ever got up at all.

 

Then, when Jack left Rudy in to face lefty Pierz, Perisho kinda stopped, looking disappointed.

 

IMO, Jack wasn't going to use Mando all night & didn't trust Perisho for the situation.

 

Tough loss - go gettum today...........

We know Jack is of the "Let's not bring in the closer unless he is closing the game mentality". Honestly, with Mota now that isn't a problem. Mota probably shouldn't have been pitching either the 7th or the 8th, pick either or, but that is irrelevent. I personally would have gone our traditional rout of Seanez to Mota to Benitez 7-8-9.

 

My biggest beef with Jack is sort of to the Armando point. But we know he isn't coming in. My thing is, it's the tenth inning. We saw in the ninth inning Rudy was a bit wild. He isn't throwing strikes to start the tenth, the first two batters made contact on iffy pitches. Why isn't anyone even warming up????? You could have gone to your best reliever in Benitez, could have brought in Bump to coerse a double play with men on and one out like that, or could have brought in Perisho to face Pierzinski. Maybe you don't do this, but why don't you even prepare for this possibility? I know Jack has absolutely no faith in Nate Bump at all, but Armando has been arguably the most dominating reliever in the game this year. Why isn't he warming?

You know, I am by far no baseball expert and don't know half as much as most of you on here.....but I was also wondering why Benitez didn't go in the game in the 10th ??? Really upsetting loss last night.

I don't feel sorry for Bonds at all.

 

He showed his arrogance when we was thown out at second in (I believe) the 6th or 7th inning. He walked off VERY slowly (like he was 80 years old) and was booed roundly for that.

We'll get them today. We would just have to settle to win the series 2 games to 1.

The problem was that seanez and mota were both left in for 2 innings, consider the point that maybe benitez wasnt feeling well or was hurting, next point, putting benitez in the 9-1 game was a good thing to do. He hadnt pitched in days and he needed to get some work. When you do that you obviously dont know if youll need him or not the next day. Mckeon's biggest mistakes were leaving seanez and mota in for too many innings. But the truth is you put ur guys out there to play and they didnt get the job done. One can only blame mckeon for leavign seanez in after the first guy got on base i nthe 10th

Keep believing that... That a guy that can only win a game every 5th day and one position player can win so many games.... Pierzynski, Mohr, Durham, Lowry, Snow, Feliz, etc..? All washed up players? I think you need to lookup the definition of washed up players. These guys are putting up pretty good numbers, if you ask me.

 

It's a team effort dude. I watch the Giants every day. They get contributions from all over the place. You can argue that the guys that hit in front of Bonds get better pitches. The guys that hit behind Bonds get better pitches because the pitcher takes it easy... Whatever the argument is, the other players still have to perform.. And so far, they have. Two guys don't put you 12 games over .500.

The guys who come to bat after Bonds is intentionally walked gets some nice hanging breaking balls too.
