May 4, 200521 yr I really liked Chuck Carr as a kid, his flashy catches and his base stealing ability really impressed my fledgling baseball sensibilities back then. I really liked Sheffield too because of his batting stance. Him and Carr are the only 90's Marlins I ever met.
May 4, 200521 yr The greatest Marlin of all-time has to be Bryan Harvey who in 1993 took a fledgling team under his wing and night after night went out there and taught the kids how to win. No player since has had the impact on a season the way Bryan Harvey did. Harvey saved an incredible 45 of the team' 64 victories that season. To put that in perspective, Armando Benitez would have had to save 64 games (he saved 47) in '04 to save the equivalent percentage of save-to-victories as Harvey. Those of you who had the pleasure of watching the 1993 Marlins know of what I speak. There will never be another Bryan Harvey.

May 4, 200521 yr The only Marlin of the 90s that I have any lingering good feelings toward is Edgar Renteria. I'm pretty meh on the rest of them, and I have no idea why that is. Gregg Zaun was kind of cool, too. And Rich Renteria. And Hough, Counsell, and Arias (no idea why). You can pretty much have the rest of them.

There will never be another Bryan Harvey. 762642[/snapback] There really won't be, I remember after the '93 season meeting him during a season ticket holder event up in West Palm, and I was just in awe. It's too bad we didn't trade him during the season though, as good as he was, I'd have to say that was the biggest mistake we made as a franchise (as far as decisions regarding on the field stuff).
