December 6, 200520 yr Chris Young is MLB ready too, from what I have read on a Sawx board I belong to. After that we would only need to find a LF(well, and a C and 2B), and we have the pitching prospects to do that. I think a rotation of Willis, McCarthy, Olsen, Johnson, and Vargas could more than hold their own. stop being so damn ignorant I agree Now let's get Russ Martin Im not that familiar with Russ Martin, but have seen you lobby for his presence in a Marlins uniform for a while. Who? What? Why?
December 6, 200520 yr I dont know how I am being ignorant there. I am hopeful for a deal for Mo Pena to be spun now that we have so many pitching prospects. And I was not trying to imply anything about Willingham, just saying I think we need a LF, one thats actually good enough to start at the mlb level.

December 6, 200520 yr Russ Martin Catcher in the Dodgers Organization. Was their 6th overall prospect last year. Best Defensive Catcher in the Dodgers organization. Hit 310 with a 430 obp 69ks to 78 bbs in 129 games in AA I think he is expendable since the emergence of Dionar Navarro last year. Dodgers are one of the teams that are said to be interested in Pierre.

To think that a 27 year old that has switched positions at least 3 times and has never started at the MLB level, and in his career has hit .250 in his MLB at bats, is not good enough to be a starter full time?

Willingham tore up every level of the minors were he played. The only reason he switched positions was that he had to given Cabrera's presence in the organization, and the uncertainty surrounding the long-term future of the catching position. The only thing age plays into is longevity of career, given the "debut late, decline early" axiom. There's no doubting he could be productive for the next three or four years, at least.

You stupid bitch, he's changed positions because the ML club (before the firesale) had the position filled for years to come. He's had limited AB's in the bigs. The same excuse you used when you were jizzing all over Aguila. Stop with this crap.

Using his career MLB average is retarded since he hasn't had consistant ABs. Given the chance to get consistant ABs, his plate discipline will yield pretty good results.. He is definitely not what we should be worrying about.. its the obvious holes, which is catcher, 2B and CF, is what we should be worrying about.
December 6, 200520 yr Im fully behind Willingham and I think he has the ability to turn into a big time major league hitter, but does he realistically have a future with the Fish?? Seeing how he can't catch regularly and is clearly not the longterm answer in LF, I just have to wonder if he will be trade bait soon...

So? Ramp posts the exact opposite all the time about his love for Willingham, and nobody says anything about it (no offense pal :thumbup ).
December 6, 200520 yr If Spike were around in the early 90's he probably would have been a Conine hater. :lol :lol :lol Niner didn't get a starting job in the bigs until he has 27.

December 6, 200520 yr To each their own opinion fellas. No one knows how Willingham is going to turn out.
