April 19, 200620 yr He and Gaby should be up in the next 3 weeks I would say, but with McCann at 1B and Davis behind the dish, Gaby would then be exclusively DH, not a good idea at this stage, given how much practice he needs. Not the same problem for harvey.
April 19, 200620 yr Author Could Harvey play CF? I'm sure he's athletic enough to but he'll probably be a LF or RF power hitter in the pros. Jose Campusano or Greg Burns look like our future CFs.
April 19, 200620 yr Has anyone seen anything of Campusano? I didn't see him in any ST games. Have heard he is stupidly fast. Anyone got anymore info on the guy?
April 20, 200620 yr Author I have updated the stats for the prospects and will do it during the season.
April 20, 200620 yr Has anyone seen anything of Campusano? I didn't see him in any ST games. Have heard he is stupidly fast. Anyone got anymore info on the guy? I saw him at a few ST games. He only played in the late innings.
April 21, 200620 yr Has anyone seen anything of Campusano? I didn't see him in any ST games. Have heard he is stupidly fast. Anyone got anymore info on the guy? His spring stats: PLAYER AVG G AB R H TB 2B 3B HR RBI ------ --- - -- - - -- -- -- -- --- J Campusano .400 6 5 3 2 4 0 1 0 0
April 21, 200620 yr Campusano has to have jumped to the forefront of our CF picture...I would love to see McCann at 2nd base I have said it before i really believe he could field the position well
April 21, 200620 yr I have updated the stats for the prospects and will do it during the season. Hey WMM2003...any chance you can inculde Jupiter 2B Edgar Gonzalez in your updates? I don't know much about him, but it looks like he's hitting .343 for the Hammerheads. I just hate seeing no prospects listed under 2B. Thanks! :notworthy ***edited post - corrected name of Jupiter 2B.
April 21, 200620 yr Author No problem Malman.... Next update I will do it. I actually almost included Edgar Martinez (2B) in this update except I know NOTHING about him. I don't know if he's a prospect or just a lucky start. He defiently deserves credit. I know that Brian Cleveland is hurt as well. I hope he plays a little 2B instead of just SS. Cleveland is from my bro's college University of Tennessee.
April 22, 200620 yr Author Daniel Barone (2-0) 0.49 ERA (18.1 IP, 6 H, 3 BB, 20 K) Wow....keep an eye on this guy. 18 IP and only 6 hits....nice start (only 1 ER) I think he went from the pen to being a starter in Greensboro when Sean West was placed on the DL.
April 22, 200620 yr 2- Travis Bowyer Injured what's his injury? I believe it was called a "tired shoulder" by Joe Frisaro in a recent column on the Fish being stacked with pitching prospects. He's being held out of regular work and not on any roster until he's ready to pitch again. Explains his poor performance this spring after a phenomenal Sept with the Twins.
April 22, 200620 yr Gonzalez hit his first home run of the season for Jupiter last night. His average is up to .378. Anyone have any info on this guy? All I can find are some stats from the Mexican league.

Barone turns 23 in 2 days actually. A happy birthday to him, and hope he keeps pitching well.
April 22, 200620 yr Author Edgar Gonzlez is 28 years old playing A ball... Wow....guess he's not a prospect. I'll keep him on here just because he is the lone 2nd baseman but who knows his birth certificate could be wrong. He might be 33. :hat
April 22, 200620 yr Author With the big jump from Greensboro to Jupiter both Brad McCann and JT Restko are stuggling..... B.McCann .155, 1 HR, 5 RBI (3 BB/ 16 K) JT.Restko .186, 0 HR, 3 RBI (6 BB/ 15 K) Makes you wonder how Gabe Sanchez, Van Houten, and Harvey will hit at the next level even though we know that the FSL is a pitchers league.
April 23, 200620 yr Author Stats are up to date as of tonight....a couple of additions added as well. I know that James Guerrero is a decent 2B man prospect at Greensboro. Campusano went 4-5 tonight for offensive player of the night. Pitcher of the night was Chris Volstad. (Volstad has 1 walk in 20 plus innings!) I've added ages and right or left-handed next to each prospect.
April 23, 200620 yr Author in 2005, Ben Julianel was the Yankees #26 prospect... that's not saying a whole lot I heard he's pretty good though. We'll see.
April 24, 200620 yr Author Tonights top performers.... Hitting... Jeff Van Houten 2 HR (5) Pitching...Blake Jones...1 IP, 3 Ks for his 4th save (16 Ks in 7.1 IP!)
April 24, 200620 yr Pitching...Blake Jones...1 IP, 3 Ks for his 4th save (16 Ks in 7.1 IP!) :wow Yikes.
April 24, 200620 yr Pitching...Blake Jones...1 IP, 3 Ks for his 4th save (16 Ks in 7.1 IP!) :wow Yikes. Drafted out of Northwestern St. in the 25th round of the 2005 draft and repeating high-A. He skipped Low-A ball from the rookie league, so maybe his 2005 was just a minor speed bump. Give him another month and then try him in Carolina. A call to Jupiter might not be a bad idea, but Carolina would. He failed in his stint in Jupiter last year, so he needs to repeat it.
