When the Marlins completed a four-game sweep of the Brewers on Monday in Miami, Dan Uggla proclaimed: "They're going to be mad at us when we go to their place."

On Friday night, the Marlins will enter Miller Park ready for their second series with Milwaukee.

 

The Marlins enter the series having lost two of three at St. Louis, including two in a row, after missing a chance to protect an eighth-inning lead on Thursday.

 

Uggla and the Marlins are hopeful that they can enjoy as much success as they did last weekend at home.

 

The Marlins are looking to get a boost offensively if slugger Miguel Cabrera is ready to return from a bruised left elbow. Cabrera is confident that he will play in the opener at Miller Park. On Wednesday night, the 23-year-old slugger was pelted in the left elbow by a Jason Marquis fastball. He left the game in the third inning that night with a bruise.

 

If Cabrera can't go, former Brewer Wes Helms will likely remain the option at third base.

 

Friday repeats a pitching matchup from last Sunday at Dolphin Stadium.

 

Anibal Sanchez will get the nod for Florida, while the Brewers will start lefty Chris Capuano.

 

Sanchez is 2-1 with a 3.97 ERA in six road games, while Capuano is 8-2 with a 2.91 ERA at home.

 

Lifetime against the Marlins, Capuano is 3-0 with a 2.67 ERA.

 

The Brewers are in the midst of a seven-game losing streak.

FLA: RHP Anibal Sanchez (5-2, 3.41 ERA)

For the second time in five days, Sanchez takes on the Brewers. In his last start, the rookie gave up two runs in six innings. The 22-year-old gave up seven hits and three walks but struck out six. Over his last four starts, Sanchez is 1-0 with three no-decisions. Sanchez has not surrendered more than two earned runs in five straight starts.

 

 

 

MIL: LHP Chris Capuano (11-8, 3.53 ERA)

Up until the seventh inning, Capuano had one of his strongest outings of the season last time out, allowing just two hits while striking out niine over a scoreless first six innings. In the seventh, though, holding a 2-0 lead, Capuano gave up back-to-back solo home runs to Cabrera and Josh Willingham to tie up the game. The no-decision was Capuano's third in his past four appearances.

 

Player to watch

Brewers shortstop Bill Hall has 30 home runs on the season. Two of them came when he was in South Florida, taking on the Marlins last weekend.

The Palm Beach Post's Joe Capozzi reports Florida Marlins 3B Miguel Cabrera (elbow) said he expects to return to the lineup today after sitting out Aug. 31 with a bruised left elbow. Manager Joe Girardi left Cabrera's return open until his left elbow is healed. When he does return, Cabrera said he will wear so-called "body armor" to protect his left arm.
