If I could give a #2 vote I would give it to Gardner. While he hasn't done much, he's done as much as you can ask for, and when called on to clean up Julio's mess, he saved us a win.

I took Jake to me he is the reason the team got off to a good start back in the first inning of the first game when Patterson walked Miggy Jake took a 2-2 count pitch the other way to knock in the first run of the season.

I voted for Cabs

Jake and Cabera are doing great. I picked Jake for getting 2 intentional walks today. Of course that was the right choice with the Hammer out of the line up . No protection for Jake.

It has to be Cabs he is not only the Marlins of the week but also the National league player of the week

Cabrera is simply in another league (no pun intended) from the rest of his teammates and as such there's almost a case to be made to exclude him from this kind of voting. The argument against that is he is human (are we sure???), can makes mistakes and have bad days, but generally I think might have been a more illuminating poll if we just give him the gold and see who wins the silver.

 

I'd love to know how the thirty-eight (at the time of this post) who have voted for Miggy would have voted were he not in the running.

The only correct answer is Miguel Cabrera.

I voted for De Aza...kid has a six-game hitting streak and is learning alot on the fly

lots of guys off to good starts particularly on offense but cabrera is in a class by himself.

I think you have to look at this from a relative standpoint.

 

We all know what Cabs can do... is he hitting out of his mind right now? Maybe. Maybe not.

 

But, a lot of us were unsure on Jake, and the way he has been hitting lefties and driving balls to the opposite field, as well as a couple of beautiful pick ups at 1st. Jake gets my vote, because I halfway expected Cabs to be hitting .700 right now.

 

Cabrera is definitely the better player, but relatively speaking, Jake had the better week.

Cabs is going to be winning most of these this year.
