August 21, 200817 yr It's ok. Fredi will just lay wee wee pads down in the clubhouse after the game for the puppies to walk on. He will pet them and tell them everything is going to be ok like he always does. Quite frankly, I would love Fredi to just lay into this team finally and give them a f***ing wake up call.

August 21, 200817 yr guys i know this is horrid to watch but think of it like this......two days from now we could be 3 out
August 21, 200817 yr Author Its amazing that even after a game like todays, more people are still blaming Fredi rather than Gregg...
August 21, 200817 yr *Waits for Fredi to be blamed* It already happened, just look a couple of posts above you. :lol

August 21, 200817 yr I just think its amazing that NOW people are saying this team isnt a playoff team when theyve been playing this bad for like 2 months... Just cause the standings say we're fallen doesnt mean we werent this bad for all two months...you could see this coming, dont act like its a huge revelation that just hit us today... Lastly, are we truly out of it? Not at all...stranger things have happened...just watch and keep a little bit of faith...cause if we suddenly gain a couple games this weekend, I dont want everyone on here changing their stance again... That said, the Marlins just arent greedy enough to be a playoff team right now...I hope they prove me wrong, but this is pretty sad...

August 21, 200817 yr I would like to know, just out of curiosity, why our team stopped hitting home runs after the break. It seems like a BIG dropoff.
August 21, 200817 yr We dont deserve to go to the playoffs, but neither does arizona or LA. We still arent out of it and we still have to series against the mets. Thats where the team has to take advantage.
August 21, 200817 yr I would like to know, just out of curiosity, why our team stopped hitting home runs after the break. It seems like a BIG dropoff. I'm guessing because they decided to strike out a lot more.
August 21, 200817 yr Crap. I have to wait for hockey season, till my next team starts. Not a Dolphins fan, and basketball gets more boring, by the day, imo. Go Cats Go! :mischief Seriously though...the Marlins have exceeded your expectations...and they are not TRYING to lose these games. We're all fans...but don't just be ignorant say "Go Heat and Dolphins." I don't like that; this team has given us great moments, and who knows? They might, again, this year. I don't see it...but stranger things have happened. I'll watch till Game 162, whether in or out of the standings, and I will applaud them that day. Plain and simple...I never expected before the season that this team would exceed 70 wins. No one did. And yet...they've hung in there. Is there an award for that? No. But...they are certainly no laughing stock. As a matter of fact, the future looks bright, if anything. Then again, I might be setting the standards too low since I'm a diehard Panthers fan, as well...just hoping to get an 8th seed, one of these years.
August 21, 200817 yr *Waits for Fredi to be blamed* Not for this loss. He has had a hand in several others this year, however. I'm new to this board so I don't want to rock the boat right now. I'm sure there are many guys who like Fredi and many who do not. For myself, I have been watching managers since the early 1960's. I remember Ralph Houk vs. Red Shoendienst in the Worlld Series, Yanks vs. Cards. I've seen managers such as Billy Martin, Dick Williams, and Whitey Herzog. Dick Howser. Sparky Anderson. Earl Weaver. Walter Alston. Chuck Dressen, Gil Hodges. Bums like Joe Altobelli. Buddy Bell. Grady Little. Pat Corrales, the only manager ever fired while his team was in first place. So I think I know a little bit about managers. I will wait a while until you guys get to know me a bit and then I will tell you guys what I think of Fredi and why.
August 21, 200817 yr Even though i love the marlins, i cant wait for the NFL and NBA season to start. But im with erick, im gonna watch till game 162, even if we're out of the race. Who knows, maybe we can prevent the mets from going to the post season like last year. :cool
August 21, 200817 yr I can only speak for myself when I say that ANY team I'm a big fan of, I always expect them to succeed and make the playoffs at the least. What's the fun in watching a team when you expect them to lose? And don't throw "let's be realistic" at me. What if I don't want to? sh*t man, I like to think of sports as an escape from reality. I'm expecting the miracles when I cheer on my team. f*** reality and expectations. There might be a 1 in 100 chance of the Marlins winning the World Series this year, but I'll always be the first one to ask, "Why can't we be that 1?" Some say it's not probable. But I say it's possible, and that is why I watch everyday.
