October 22, 200817 yr Now I don't want to assume everyone else's opinion on this matter, but speaking for myself, I don't want to see the team's color(s) changed. I'm already disgusted with all the orange as it is, Florida has enough teams (Dolphins, Hurricanes, Gators,..) with orange, as does MLB (Giants, Mets, Orioles). I don't want to see our team just look like a bunch of other teams in baseball, like the 20 teams who wear red or blue. While I can certainly respect the wishes of those who don't want the team wearing the all teal Jerseys again, I don't know anyone who actually like all this orange and such that seems to be pushing on us. So while I'd like to maybe do a more formal and serious petition to try to keep the Marlins teal, I'd like to know how everyone else feels about it. Bleh, and I already screwed it up by accidentally voting yes on #2 in my haste... What a jerk! Don't you know Amendment #2 will lead to taking away rights from unmarried and same-sex couples - jerk! :thumbdown (kidding)
October 22, 200817 yr While I agree that in the early years there was too much teal (w/ the teal hats, teal undershirts and teal batting helmets), but the color scheme now is also out of balance w/ too much black and not enough teal. Currently, the only teal on the uniforms (and most advertisements and merchandise) is a thin line around the "Marlins", "Florida" naems and numbers. It's so thin it doesn't appear in photos or tv, so in the end the Marlins end up looking plain, drab and unexciting. I liked it when in 97 they started wearing the black undershirts and the black hats all the time (which I believe technically were once considered the road hat, w/ the teal w/ black rim the alternate) was agreat balance. We had the teal lettering and pinstipres for pop, and black everything else to complement. We were unique, and it was the color scheme us early fans took to heart. The current ownership's abandonment of teal and black in favor of black and silver (with orange thrown in for good measure) almost seems like a slap in the face to the pre-2003 fans.
October 22, 200817 yr Speaking of teal & orange, years ago golfer Payne Stewart used to wear NFL colors when he played near a NFL city. So he was playing in Orlando, and wore a god-awful combination of aqua knickers and orange shirt. The commentators really gave him hell about that. Bottom line - aqua (or teal) & orange don't match. October 22, 200817 yr I've never liked orange for the Marlins. Teal has been a team color since the beginning. Keep the teal! Get rid of the orange! My bridesmaids are planning my wedding shower. It will be Marlins themed and I specifically said no orange. I'm jealous of your fiancee (because you are having a Marlins themed wedding).

Fiancee = wife to be. Fiance = husband to be. Honest mistake, if I didn't have a fiancee I wouldn't know either. Also, I think the shower is Marlins themed, not the wedding. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
