I love how the tank (or whatever it is) in CF creates a curved/wavy version of the Triangle. Loria was true to his word that they would incorporate that into the field dimensions (just not quite as severe).

As far as the tank itself, I'm pretty positive they said they had looked into adding a Marlin tank in CF, but that the size required to adequately (and safely) accomodate a Marlin was unfeasible. Perhaps a robotic one?

Finally, it looks as if the players will park in the parking grages w/ the rest of us shmoes; there doesn't appear to be any auxillary parking lots or structures attached to the stadium.

Yes, it will be an animatronic Marlin. It's in the agreement.

Looks awesome...a little but two much like a space ship though?

Thats because the team is OUTTA THIS WORLD!

.............ok sorry...

Will they come complete with lasers?

Really liking the design for the new ballpark...only problem I have is I don't see the teal monster...don't have any real good angles, but it doesn't look like it's there...

It pretty much sounds like it's going to be coming as advertised. Pool/beach area as everyone had planned, as well as the Marlin past the bermuda triangle in dead center. Sounds incredible.

I wouldn't care if it was built in a sandlot and looked like a giant turd. At least they're getting their OWN stadium.

"They hope to be able to play in a 37,000 seat, retractable-roof stadium by Opening Day 2012. It will include 1,000 standing room only tickets."

I found this interesting. Standing room only tickets. :mis2

they have some here in phoenix and i've seen them in arenas for other sports as well

pretty much in any stadium that has open concourses you can set up a rail and like a bar type area at the top of the seating section where people can stand and look at the game

Yeah I saw the standing bar in the new Braves stadium and thought it would be such a great idea. Also, thought it was a great idea to include a "beach/pool" Watching the game on a beach...how cool is that???

You mean Marlins with freakin laserbeams attached to their freakin heads?.

The new ballpark will feature a large-scale animatronic marlin in a tank which will ?jump? when the Fish hit a home run. I?m guessing that?s going in the Bermuda Triangle area.

Sounds a little bit like copying New York's apple but still cool.

Except this is BETTER!!

Thanks MarlinsFan7, great descriptions on that site, makes the stadium even cooler, and more real!

Will 6,000 parking spots be enough for a possibility of 38,000 people? Assume 3 people on average per car we should be able to accomadate 18,000 people. I guess the other 20,000 will need to find parking outside the complex. If anyone on this board lives in that area, do you think this will be a potential problem?

Well, the Orange Bowl didn't have nearly that many parking spots and we somehow learned to deal.

Also, have to account for train rides. It may not be popular at first, but after time everyone south that can take the train will eventually be riding the train.
