April 15, 200917 yr Sorry if already posted...wasn't sure if this went here or under minor league... http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...sp&c_id=fla
April 15, 200917 yr I feel bad for Tank, his career has just nosedived after looking so promising. As far as recovery and all, I've had this very same operation, though not for a stress fracture (it was a full-on fracture of both the medial and latteral epicondyles as well as a dislocation of my forearm). I have two screws in there holding everything back together. I was in a imbobilzer or sorts that allowed me to bend my elbow, but limited the plane of movement, for around 4 weeks and then was in physical therapy another 2 or 3 weeks. The optomistic recovery time in the article of six weeks sounds about right. I wil ltell you, though, I'm not so sure Tank wil lever bee the same. I lost about 5 degrees of movement from my injury and surgery, and to this day my elbow still "pops" and hurts if I put too much strain on it. I can't imagine what the rigors of professional pitchign would do.
April 15, 200917 yr And the reason this team didn't ink Villone to a minor league deal is? (let alone Ohman et. al)
April 15, 200917 yr And the reason this team didn't ink Villone to a minor league deal is? (let alone Ohman et. al) Villone's last stay as a Marlins was a horrible horrible event. I bet that had something to do with it.

I bet that had something to do with it. Yes, it was. It's still a business, of course, and his numbers against lefties are just so good. But I would never say that your scenario is impossible, and it might even be likely.
April 15, 200917 yr While he's under the knife he should go for Tommy John and gain the extra 3 MPH on his fastball! :lol
April 15, 200917 yr should have kept rhodes OR should have got ohman I think not signing Rhodes was a big mistake , he did not sign for alot even by our standards, now I suspect we will have trade prospects at the deadline for a comparable pitcher

April 15, 200917 yr Rhodes has been horribly inconsistent in his career, and we can't afford to be saddled with an inconsistent LOOGY for 2 mil a year.
