I forgot to keep score on how many times average Joe fans have been more right about Marlins players than their own management. Safe to say this one goes to the board for knowing that Anibal was put into action way too early.

They should of never rushed him in the first place. Was that win worth the risk?

Hes also had TJ ssurgery. I play ball with 2 kids who've had labrum surgery and both say they always feel some pain pitching and some days its just unberable.

 

Im really getting tired of Anibal and his injuries. I always here wait till hes back to full strength, well it never happens. I wish the best for him but he drives me nuts.

Honeslty, place him on the 60 day DL, let him rest, and go from there.

i really wonder if this guy will ever come back. right now the only piece that worked out from the trade was hanley and we didnt even give delgado and garcia a chance.

It's going to be difficult to consider Sanchez a long-term starting pitcher from this point onward. The number of pitchers that go on to have successful careers after torn labrums is rather small and there haven't been enough medical advances over the last ten years.

 

I highly doubt Sanchez can be considered a starter at this point. He will have to be given bullpen duty, perhaps a long reliever. If the Marlins are somehow offered any return remotely enticing after his recovery, I think they should take it.

Anibal Sanchez is an interesting case study. His wife is a doctor, he's not an unintelligent person obviously, and maybe my read is off-base (no pun intended) but time after time it appears the guy is unable to be forthright about his health. I can't figure out if it's desire to pitch outweighing common sense or something pathological, but at some point I would imagine the Marlins have to make a decision about how much they can depend on his devotion to the truth.

With over a hundred games to play you can't possibly be serious. The bottomline is they are still in contention and are trying to stay there. Maybe you've given up on the team and the season but obviously the decision-makers haven't.

 

Considering our offense isn't anything special either its really hard to imagine us improving in the short term from moving one of our offensive pieces. Even with Anibal down we still have a passable starting 5 (including Nolasco if he gets back into shape) even if its isn't good. But moving an offensive piece is just going to leave us struggling even more to score runs. It's not like we're running out an allstar lineup as is or else we wouldn't have a second basemen batting under .200 in left field.

 

The fact of the matter is, we've gotten plenty of good starts from Johnson, Volstad, and others were our offense hasn't been able to score runs.

I've really always accepted anything that Sanchez has been able to give us as token. Why anyone in the organization or out would project him to be in the top 5 in starts on our team is beyond me.
