June 16, 200915 yr Thus continues the ruin of 90's baseball heroes. I wonder who else was on that "secret" list from 2003 besides Arod and Sosa........
June 16, 200915 yr I said this months ago, but I KNEW that more of those names would come out eventually. It's really only a matter of time for the rest. MLB could have saved itself boatloads of trouble and just gotten it over with back in February. In today's 24/7 sports world, that would have been old news to most by now.
June 16, 200915 yr Just let us know who else is on this list already. For cripes sake he used PED's and a corked bat?!?!? The only thing I can say in all there hitters defense is the pitchers were using them too, e.g. Gagne, Clemens etc...
June 17, 200915 yr Not to shocking but I did love the race him and big mac went on for the homer record.
June 17, 200915 yr Not to shocking but I did love the race him and big mac went on for the homer record. A lot of people loved that race because they thought it was legitimate.
June 17, 200915 yr I loved the race because it was entertaining The whole purpose of baseball. Has it diminished now for you when you think back on it?

June 17, 200915 yr I'm just waiting for names like Pujols to pop up so people will realize that basically everyone (if not close) took PEDs.

June 18, 200915 yr Not to shocking but I did love the race him and big mac went on for the homer record. A lot of people loved that race because they thought it was legitimate. I really didn't care if it was legit. Seeing them hit homers every other night and not just fence scrapers but bombs was fun to watch. They may have done ped but it doesn't mean they didn't work hard. Lots of people seem to have this idea that you just take some roids or ped and grow muscles overnight, these guys still worked at it. I'm not saying you think this but the media makes it seem this way.

But we're talking about guys in their late 20s
June 18, 200915 yr Steroids are bad for anyone, Nny. They may be a little more bad for teenagers, but to say they're "ok" to take if you're in your late 20s is a foolish thing to say.

Certainly there are some negative side effects but they are most minimal. The only times it actually has a major adverse effect is when a person is going through puberty.

June 18, 200915 yr The only dangers steroids present are; when they're abused... (but abusing ANY sort of drug is dangerous), or when they're obtained from non-medically reliable sources. People always conveniently forget that steroids were easily obtainable until the late 1980s on the heels of the olympic controversy. The major health organizations in the US were all opposed to the reclassification, too. Basically, we don't know who was on what before steroids were made taboo.

And likewise, any drug is also very prone to addiction and abuse. Steroids are no different. Many people say they're going to take steroids in small doses and end up getting hooked on the things. The possible risks of getting hooked to them and abusing them far outweigh the marginal gain you might get from taking them in small doses. It's just stupid. There's a reason they're illegal in the United States without medical prescription.
June 18, 200915 yr Hank Aaron took greenies, and he did it to be better at baseball. I fail to see how this is any different besides that it works better and the media coverage.
