June 21, 200917 yr From Juan C. Rodriguez's Tweet: #Marlins RHP Kiko Calero to DL. Recall RHP Tim Wood from AAA New Orleans.
June 21, 200917 yr This comes as absolutely zero surprise to me. I've said this 1 million times, Fredi has used certain bullpen arms to their maximum, and most of them have ended up on the DL. I called this happening 2 months ahead of time.
June 21, 200917 yr That's an odd time for an injury, considering he's currently been pitching less frequently then he was all season.

June 21, 200917 yr Of course this was going to happen. It happened to Pinto last year just not this early.

Might have just felt a little discomfort, hoped it was just something bothering a little and pitched him less.
June 21, 200917 yr Soon as I saw this thread, I thought about Calero coming in with a big lead the other day when he didnt have to... get better Kiko...

June 22, 200917 yr Pinto did pretty good tonight. Hopefully he can fill in nicely for Kiko in the coming weeks.
June 30, 200917 yr Calero (shoulder) tossed a bullpen session on Monday, the Marlins' official site reports. "I feel good," Calero said. "I think I'm going to throw another bullpen on Wednesday using breaking balls. I'm pretty close. I'd like to throw my bullpen with everything -- changeup, breaking ball." He could be ready to go on a rehab assignment by this weeknd, and Calero is shooting to be activated by July 9 against the Diamondbacks. http://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.htm?ID=7505 Sorry for the massive bump but it looks like he'll be back before the break. Not sure how I feel about that. Despite our struggles and thinness in the pen, wouldn't it be smarter to give him the extra time off to ensure he's back at 100%?

Yes it would but if all hell breaks loose i doubt he get's the extra time.
