7/6 Post Game

My heart can't take teases like that. Tough loss to take when we were so close.....

Also, there better have been a really good reason why we couldn't have used Hanley in that spot.....

Ah, damn it. I'd rather us lose by 10 runs than by only that one run. What a tease.

Sean West needs to understand that nothing good comes from walks.

Well, ladies and gentlemen,

their streak, and mine have ended.

Its been a great pleasure, i guess

ill post a game thread another day.

I hate that Craig interviews their players after a loss. Bleh.

I'd much rather see a team that falls short than a team that gives you no hope, at all. They showed heart, and fell short.

There were a lot of positives to take away from this game.

PS - Why the f*** didn't Hanley hit in the 9th, if he was supposedly available to pinch-hit?

The only thing I can think of is that they didn't want to risk him hurting himself more having to play defense if they managed to only tie the game, since I think the only player available on the bench at the time was Carroll.

I couldn't agree more. I'm glad we were able to scrap our way back into the game and eventually we were a hit away from tying the game. There are way tougher losses than this one. JJ will go get 'em tomorrow and hopefully Hanley will be in the lineup.

Good try by the Fish... so damn close.

3 hits by Boni.... none by "Potential".

And yesterday, when Hermida went 2-4 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI, did you say "2 hits by "Porential".... none by Boni"? No, of course not. 1) because you might know that a 1 game sample size is dipshit and 2) because you're an ass.

Utilizing BroncoBob defense will get you nowhere.

Still chasing number one, huh?

...and when Boni (now 26 for 84 (0.309) since June 6) went 4-4 in the Saturday game, he said nothing either.

Hermida is now so bad his avg is LOWER than the "awful" Boni's.

Nah. My "defense" would be showing when people make up their own stats and facts to justify their opinions. Just like this. Or simply to show the other side of the coin.

A little rough, but I gotta agree it was an unfair thing to say. Jeremy is pretty much a streak hitter while the team is getting Boni to be a hitter that slaps the ball around to get on base one way or the other.

1.)His sore right hip flexor has prevented him from even swinging in the batting cages since Saturday, according to marlins.com. 2.)It was cold there. Or didn't you notice all the fans wearing coats and with blankets on their legs? Not good for someone injured. 3.)He was "available to PH" as a decoy to the opposing team. I would go with those 3 reasons combined. Mainly because the other reason is one we don't want to contemplate. His injury is worse than we are being led to believe.

The rest I agree with. The guys gave it a great shot. But give credit where it is due. The Giants played some very nice defense as well.

That one walk to the pitcher killed him. That inning looked like he was trying to over pitch. And that's really what he needs to learn. Other than that he pitched a very nice game. This was a game I really didn't expect to win. Let's hope Sean learns from it and moves on.
