July 29, 200915 yr You actually couldn't see it, but Ross Gload did the "SUCK IT" motion repeatedly rounding second.
July 29, 200915 yr That's how you run the bases after a walk off, Alfonso Soriano. I just saw the video.

July 29, 200915 yr That's how you run the bases after a walk off, Alfonso Soriano. LOL Soriano is, um, different. He's the kind of player that can sometimes let his emotions take over his common sense. The kind that can sometimes almost beg to be HBP the next game. Not that I'm disagreeing with you at all. Surprised me that was Gload's first walk off dinger. Congrats to him.

July 29, 200915 yr Can people clue me in on what is the actual "suck it" move? lol http-~~-//www.youtube.c...feature=related The 1st one is the gay you can't see me move that Soriano has been doing and the last one was the crotch chop know as the "suck it" move.
July 29, 200915 yr That's how you run the bases after a walk off, Alfonso Soriano. 200% agree... Ross Gload is the consumate professional... dude just looks serious and all about business all the time... I like it. Wish he would be given more playing time but he's been stellar as a PH this year.
July 29, 200915 yr You know, I love Gload's professionalism but I love some fire too... am I the only one that loves Josh Beckett for his intensity? Don't get me wrong, I can't stand when he goes over the line and wants to fight everyone over everything... but I love knowing (and seeing) that Josh cares about his game and his team. The contrast to that is Dontrelle Willis... who had one thing that I couldn't stand... his lack of intensity in situations that deserved it. Ever seen Dontrelle give up like a 3-run homer and then just smile, nod his head and tell the catcher "my bad?" Ohhh I hated that. I'd rather watch Beckett punch a wall. Ok, I went off there... this thread is about Ross Gload... and yes, I do appreciate his professionalism.

A little intensity is nice, but I'd rather have my pitcher be back in control of the situation and not lose his temper and focus. That's the problem we had with Olsen for a while and it affected his performance.

Josh Beckett never goes "over the top" when he reacts to a big moment. On the other hand, you have a guy like Soriano (who drops easy pop flys) who gets one big hit in the season and does the "wave the hands in his face" routine when he crosses the plate. I could understand being that kind of stupid-cocky if you were, I don't know, a supreme bad-ass like pujols, hanram, or manram, but Soriano just needs to put his head down and round the bases. I liken this situation to an NBA player which I despise for this very reason. Eddie House. House is at the very best a bench player who will get 5-8 minutes of game time. Whenever he manages to hit a 3 pointer (because the defenders on the court forget about his existence) he starts showing off, pointing to his chest, and yelling obsenities. Hey Eddie, stfu... you suck and you are nowhere near the best player on the court no matter where and when you play. It would be different (although I think its dumb to do anyway) if it were a player like paul pierce, lebron, or Ray Allen acting that way after hitting a shot but they don't because they are used to hitting that shot many times a game. This was Gload's first walk-off and it was in (up to this point) one of the biggest games/series of the season. He handled it like he had done it before. Soriano has had a walk-off hit before, yet he acts like he's king-sh*t of f*** mountain everytime he does it. Me no likey this.
July 29, 200915 yr My highschool football team lines up at the goaline before every game and does the suck it before every game to the other team while they are doing warm ups.
July 29, 200915 yr Gotta agree with trucanes here. The one of the first things I said to someone after the HR was "look how calm he looks there". I love that he hit the homerun and looked like I do after I fix a bad computer problem, like someone who just did his job and did it well.
